Basically a post-war student halls of residence opened up to the public outside term time. There may be some more characterful rooms in older parts of the college - I don't know if these are bookable or not - but the one I was in was a basic institutional room with bed, wardrobe, a threadbare chair and not much else. Bathroom looked more like an office cubicle with a shower, toilet and (tiny) wash stand installed in it.
Fire alarm system seems over sensitive - one member of our party set it off, apparently while boiling a kettle (supplied by the management!), and everyone had to vacate the block. Heaven help the students who live here year-round if this happens all the time.
Wish I had stayed at the Castle instead after reading some of the reviews on here.
