Overall nice place. Have checked out many other hotels in this area. Bennets restaurant is reasonalbly good. The only problem is that the ceiling is made of wooden bars and you can hear any movement of the person above you. This is not a litte bump - it is very loud. expecially if you sleep and the person above you... more

Stayed here for 2 nights on business and was very impressed with the general ambience and appearance of the hotel itself, and the spacious room. A really nice breakfast, and dinner, though not exceptional, was faultless. Staff were very polite and helpful, and the gym - wow - certainly the best hotel gym I have used, a lot of people... more

We stayed at the Wrightington in July 2007 as part of my birthday celebrations. With a party in the function rooms in the evening we had over fifty guests stay at the hotel to help me celebrate and all were impressed with the standard of service we received. We arrived on the friday for a two night stay and were... more

Stayed here on a Sunday night and paid a cheaper rate of £80 for a double room b&b, after attending a christening here during the day. The room was fine with co-ordinating cushions on the bed, which was nice. A flat screen tv with some sports channels, hubby was happy! The bathroom had a very powerful shower but no bath... more

The rooms were very pleasant, sizeable and very well furnished (including co-ordinating scatter cusions!), although en-suite bathrooms were slightly dated but functional. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. A special mention to Emma on reception who made our stay particularly enjoyable. We decided not to dine in the hotel restaurant but visited The Hind's Head (food sourced locally) and the Rigbye... more

This Hotel in which I stayed several times is perfectly located near the M6 in a lovely rural landscape, has a famous and weel-booked health center, large rooms (not all quiet), typical UK breakfast ... but constantly the most indifferent, ignorant staff I ever met in any hotel. more

Stayed here on business for 4 times now and think it's a really nice hotel if a bit pricey. The rooms are modern and confortable, the attached Heathcotes restaurant is just fine and the hotel's own restaurant is perfectly adequate. I've found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Unlike the nearby Kilhey Court, it's not empty during the week,... more

We stayed at the best western wrightington country club on Saturday 06th October 2007. The property is very nicely furnished and of a good standard. However the attitude of the staff is unfriendly uncommunicative and a little indifferent. On arrival I greeted the receiptionist with a smile and a greeting which was not reciprocated, she used as few words as... more

Had a good sized room with excellent bathroom (but no soapdish in shower - why?) Pricey at 121 quid a night. Suspect much used for assignation duties. Perhaps the only decent hotel in the area. Receptionist witless and ignorant. Do management ever check their front office staff? Perhaps she was family. Very close to M6 motorway and has adequate parking.... more

We went to a wedding reception at the Wrightington on 24th June 2005 - a lovely setting, superb modern rooms. Such a shame about the staff. Rude, obstructive, miserable, unhelpful, arrogant, incompetent. I find it amazing that millions can be spent building a magnificent hotel only to have its reputation ruined by a total absence of professionalism. How much effort... more
