Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This trip was a 2 night break for me to relax and unwind and I certainly did that! The hotel is fabulous, the staff are attentive and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The pool and spa are fabulous and I spent many hours lounging in the large hot tub with my book. The hotel is perfectly situated on the beach and has lovely walks along to the cliffs. I managed to do a 6 mile round trip easily and the scenery was stunning! My bedroom was perfect for me but would have been tight for 2. It was great having a bath too! The bar is a little dull and would benefit from some zhuzing up but the bar staff are friendly and chatty and the food was perfect for ehat I needed. The Redcliffe is a gem in so many ways and I will definitely return.

A great little traditional hotel. Wonderful staff good level of amenities. On the beach with good access to the town. We will use this hotel again. Breakfast is very good. Everywhere is clean. Two pools and a gym. Good parking. Direct access to the coastal path from the hotel grounds.

I recently held my Mum’s celebration wake at the Redcliffe Hotel and it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. The food was fantastic, fresh sandwiches, delicious scones, cream and jam, freshly made fruit cake, tea, coffee and a bar on hand as well. It was a perfect location, plenty of space, plenty of seats and tables and private enough. A speaker for back ground music, opportunity to display photos and a screen to play photos. I also held my Dad’s wake there 17 months previously and went back again because I was so impressed with the location and service from the staff. Thank you for helping to make the celebration of my parents long lives so special, two great send offs.

Another great stay at the Redcliffe. Great location overlooking the sea with shops and restaurants within walking distance and good free onsite car parking. All staff at the hotel friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable. They definitely go above and beyond. Excellent breakfast, cooked, cereals, pastries, fruit, toast etc. Great bar with bar menu, good selection of meals. Plenty of areas around the hotel to sit and relax and the outside terrace is fabulous looking out to sea.

I must have passed this hotel hundreds of time in my youth, but have never been inside or in the grounds. Today, my sister and I had a lunch there and we sat in the bar. It was all very pleasant. The staff were very attentive and we enjoyed our sandwiches which seemed very fresh. There was a lovely outlook to the sea although the weather wasn’t very good, we shall be coming again.

We eat out regularly as a group of friends, we lunch, we dinner, we holiday and we afternoon tea, today we chose to afternoon tea at the Redcliff, hotel, firstly we were impressed by the price, afternoon teas can typically be in the range of over £20 but this one was just £14.50, I can honestly say it was every bit as lovely as ones we have paid twice the price, it was fresh, tasty and totally delicious, one of the best we’ve tried, this will now be a regular place for us, can’t recommend it enough.

Stayed at the hotel for one night. I was the only guest in a 70+ room hotel. Felt very strange and lonely. Was it but spooky seeing more staff walking around than guests. As I was the only guest I would have thought they have given me a far superior bedroom or even one that looked directly out the the sea with a better view than what I did have of the extension rooftop. Bedrooms could do with modernisation with walk in showers and they were very hot even with the heating turned down. This was tired with an old bath to step over. Television had Freeview channels, but not all working. Had a kettle with free tea bags, coffee etc. Leisure facilities available like gym, pool and sauna/steam room. Hotel car parking is free for guests and very large. There were also lots of disability spaces located outside the front door. No EV charging available which was a shame. The restaurant is located next to the bar area. The meals are reasonably priced. I did not eat there as I was the only guest and felt I would go out to a local restaurant for a bit more atmosphere. The walk into town is about 10mins along the seafront. The breakfast is a reasonable choice between hot and cold buffet. On a positive note the hotel staff are super friendly and helpful where it was possible. Full credit to the staff. I understand the hotel maybe having a full re-fit this year. It does need it if correct.

The position of the Redcliffe Hotel is amazing and 2nd to none with 360 degree views of the whole of Torbay. Extremely friendly from the moment you walk into reception and the greeting and service you get from the dining room staff is brilliant with a special mention to Ann Marie & Roger who wait on the tables. Additionally the room was exceptionally clean and well maintained and extremely comfortable and again a special mention must go to Bernie (Bernadette) who looked after our room. An absolute bonus is the free onsite parking which is plentiful in space and something some other large Hotels in Torbay don't offer. In addition to the Redcliffe Hotel being right on the sea front is the easy walking accessibility to Paignton Town Centre with it's Theatre, Cinema, Pier & Steam Train which travel to Dartmouth. Finally we noticed whilst there the exciting prospect of a major development improvement to the Hotel (sometime in the future) which will make this already lovely Hotel an amazing one.

I go to the Redcliffe quite frequently with friends and family for drinks and sometimes a meal. The views are spectacular and the bar staff and receptionist are so welcoming. It’s such a beautiful building with lots of character… looking forward to seeing the refurbishment
