This was our first visit to the Isle of Wight and we arrived quite late
on a Friday evening . We had missed the dinner sitting but never
mind our host Bill Grindley put as at the Bar and went and made
us a couple of sandwiches coupled with the local Ale was just the
beginning of a wonderful week at the Hambeldon.
We had booked half board and was the right choice. Each morning
after a wonderful breakfast which gave more then enough choices
we then chose what we wanted for dinner. There was always three
quite different and each days dinner choices were never repeated.
Jackie not only as pleasant a host as Bill but a first class Chef as well.
We perhaps were fortunate in having room #8 but heard no complaints from anyone on their accomadations.
The Grindleys cater to walkers and their hotel is right on the south coastal walk and the public transport is cheap and efficient for those not inclined to walking. more
