My wife andl I stayed at the Rylstone Manor for 3 nights in late September, 2009. We absolutely loved our visit and hated to leave. Mike and Carole were gracious hosts and Mike is an incredible chef. Be sure to take the Bed, Breakfast and Dinner option. The rooms are lovely and the Victorian house/hotel is amazing. It's an easy... more

Consistent with prior reviews this is a nice small (9 room) family run comfortable hotel. The bedrooms while not large are comfortable, the service friendly and attentive. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were good and well above average for Shanklin and the Isle of Wight. Clearly this is a hotel for leisure and not business. Couple of tips: One... more

The Rylstone Manor Hotel is an experience you should not miss. Set in a park close to Shanklin village for pubs, shops and buses. Our room was worthy of 5 stars, comfortable beds, all en suite. A view into the garden full of trees and overlooking a nearby chine. A real treat of a Hotel great Breakfast and excellent cooking... more

I saw the reviews of this place, liked the sound of it and was not disappointed. Beautiful house, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, and in an idyllic setting. Friendly service and super food. Now the nit picking. Breakfast service can be slowish. Far too slow if I were on business. Bar service before dinner is very slow. And the atmosphere pre... more

Immaculately (and expensively) decorated large county house set in the corner of a park. Our room "Elm" is one of the smaller ones although perfectly adequate. The bathroom is very compact and has a shower. It overlooks the garden at the rear. Breakfast was very nice and efficiently served from 830 to 930. Evening meals were good are a fixed... more

We stayed for 4 nights on a DB&B basis and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Carole and Mike together with the whole team just made it home from home and considering we had never visited the IOW their travelling tips were as good as any travel agent. Mike's kitchen was superb so much so that after a memorable dinner it was... more

My wife and I have stayed at Rylstone Manor on approx 15 occasions over the past dozen years under both the previous and current owners and have yet to find anything to fault the place. The location in the gardens makes it seem like you are in a rural area rather than a couple of minutes from the centre of... more

My husband treated me to Rhylstone Manor to celebrate my 55th. I had always wanted to stay there. We stayed in the room called Ash overlooking the front of the house and beautiful gardens. It was quite magical. Most evenings we enjoyed being entertained by a band in the gardens. We also greatly appreciated Angie's great ability in making teddy... more

If you are looking for a small family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble, try staying here where Carole and Michael will spoil you and Angie the morning waitress will cheer you up with her sunny outlook on life. Visit Osborne House, Ventnor, Yarmouth and Cowes. This is a beautiful unspoilt island apart from the 'amusements' at the... more

After being away from the Isle of Wight for over 35 years I returned with my partner to deal with a sad personal matter. I wanted somewhere peaceful and reminiscent of the old Isle of Wight that lives now only in my memories. I found all this and more at Rylstone Manor. The hotel was charming, the service friendly and... more
