came here last year with the car club so was really looking forward to this short break. unfortunately, the hotel was over booked and the sea view room was not to be, but we were told an ungraded room would be provided. seems there idea of an upgrade is to stick us on the ground floor next to the laundry... more

this hotel is not what the brochure says!!! It smells, the rooms are not up to standard Dont even bother with the breakfast, unless you are partial to cold ,undercooked or even reheated food more

When you enter this property its like stepping back to the 70's, lounge, bar and reception areas are all in desperate need of upgrading, the decor is very drab with garish coloured furniture and dark walls. We stayed on a b&b basis so went out to eat at night, we would go to the bar for a drink around 7pm... more

We have recently returned from staying at the Shanklin for the second time. The decor is very 1960's but this fits perfectly with the style of building and quite honestly is part of the charm.
