As a birthday present to my husband, who has never been to IOW, i took him there, and paid the extra for a sea view - yes we had a sea view, just about through the other hotels which were in the rows in front as it was about 3 roads back from the coast. First impressions were poor. We... More

My family stayed here for a break at Easter and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast service was exceptional and something we looked forward to every morning, great food, and very experienced friendly serving staff who also made the whole experience fantastic. I spent every evening down in the bar and had many interesting conversations with Dave who made us... More

We stayed again at the Havelock and didn't want to leave! We get rest, excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms and the best service from Ann, Dave and their very kind staff. It makes all the difference to stay with such a close knit team! Plus sea views! I'm already saving for the next trip now! More

The welcome from Anne & Dave was 1st class, and made you feel at home straight away. Before going to our room we sat in the spacious lounge/bar and ordered some baguettes from the light snack menu and they were fantastic. After eating we headed up to our room, the halls were clean and welcoming. On opening our door, the... More

We stayed for 3 nights. The room was very comfortable and clean, with more than sufficient towels and soaps. The tea and coffee making facilities were always replenished. We stayed at the front of the hotel and heard no noise at all. There was a comfortable relaxed lounge where there is a useful folder with previous guests comments on good (and... More

I booked a twin room for two nights for myself and a friend and it worked out to about £37 each per night. I can safely say that we got excellent value for money. Our room was nicely decorated and surprisingly spacious with a flat screen TV on the wall. There was also a good selection tea and coffee is... More

The Havelock impressed us with great breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable staff and a very plush room. The owners booked our ferry ahead of the trip (great idea) and made us welcome straight away. It is positioned in a great little area and is walking distance to good food and drink (try the fishermans cottage). I would recommend this hotel to... More

The Havelock offers an excellent location to explore Shanklin with only a few minutes walk to the sea front, old village and the town centre. We stayed for 4 nights but could have easily stayed for longer. We were welcomed by one of the proprietors (Dave) who was very friendly and helpful, in fact I don't think I have come... More

We stayed at the Havelock in September. The hotel is set back from the beach and a row of hotels are in front of the hotel on the beach front itself, however sea views are available. The hotel has an excellent location being only about 5 minutes walk from both the beach front and 5 minutes walk from the old village...
