we have just spent five days with Skill's Coaches from Nottingham at this hotel and found the food very good & staff did for us more than what was thier duty.Yes we had mishaps with certain illnesses but it isn't always the food or beer in the hotel that can cause these it is sometimes the outside restaurants & pubs... more

Hotel staff very helful and friendly, good food, waitress service excellent, food served to tables quickly. Only 1 problem, water jugs and water on tables somewhat limited. Rooms basic but adequate, quiet street, easy to sleep at night. Nice pubs and shops just 5minutes walk away, beach also 5mins walk. more

just returned from long weekend food was awful mostly uneatable i know the hotel is basic and very cheap but even so standards very low rooms small and dirty and alcohol very bad, beer was undrinkable and gave many people upset stomachs , staff were reasonably helpful but trying hard to cover over a poor managed and financed establishment. more

Just returned from a Mon-Fri break, bit worried by certain adverse comments, but very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is basic, certain areas , including bedrooms need decorating, but current management are tackling this bit by bit. The food was good, also the service and all staff were very pleasant and helpful. Very good value for money. more

Food fair and service acceptable, but shower "room" very small with very cramped space and small handbasin. Looked as though a section of passage had been partitioned off to make the room onsuite. Also the towels provided had an odd smell and did not appear laundered but rather rinsed out on site. A pity because attention to a few easily... more

This hotel runs on a very tight budget - it is very obvious. the rooms are tatty, everything was really old and worn, even the towels. There was blankets on the mattress to even out the springs! The tea/coffee facilities in the room are awful - one teabag per person, 1 milk etc. No water jug on the table, its... more

Only just returned from a Mon-Frid stay at the Medhamstede Hotel, i was one of a group off a bus tour from South Wales. We were originally booked to stay at another hotel in Sandown and were changed to this hotel a few weeks before departure. Good value for money here, i'd say,a good varied choice of meals and a... more

My wife and I booked a bargain coach break for 3 nights over the Easter weekend. We booked a late deal at a bargain price, so our expectations were limited. We had a good room (57) on the top floor of the east block anex with a good sea view from the bay window. The room was quite large with... more
