Myself and eight friends arrived at the Bonchurch manor our host Shuba greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome and made us feel as though we were more her friends coming to stay as opposed to simply being guests. The house is warm comfortable and full of old world charm and character. The rooms were clean, comfortable, bright and airy... more

We went to have a look at this hotel as we were planning a family get together on the island and thought this would be a good spot to stay.We walked up to the hotel to ask if we could have a look at the accomodation. We were amazed to see a swimming pool room at the top of the... more

The reviewer Rogers26 did not stay with us at our Guest House. He walked in off the street, unannounced, to look around, without enquiring if we were busy or if we had the time to show them around the premises. There was no appointment booked to view the accommodation nor did he ring the bell or call to attention any...

Bonchurch Manor is a family hotel owned and managed by a husband wife partnership. It is an attractive Victorian house situated on the beautiful south coast of the Isle of Wight, set in a large landscaped garden and over looking the English Channel. With its welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, it has retained all the best features of the traditional English country... more

Booked this establishment as last minute booking as a place to stay over whilst attending the IOW music festival. Dispite my reservations on reading comments on this site decided to book as all my other options were fully booked. The house itself is in a nice location but has a rather shabby appearence when you enter. However once inside it... more

I am sorry about your disappointment. It is odd that you stayed 2 nights out of which most of the day and evening time was at the `Rock Festival" and you say your experience here was "terrible" on the basis of one unsmiling staff member?! During the 2 popular festivals on the IOW, our accommodation is filled by bands, journalists,...

We visited Bonchurch Manor Hotel in August 2007 for 2 nights & 3 days for a family celebration with our 2 daughters, sons-in-law & 5 grandchildren aged 9 to 14 years. It was a hugely enjoyable & successful occasion, due to the excellence of the hotel, a typical IoW large Victorian house, very light & sunny with lots of character,... more

If you want a get away from it all, relaxed and informal break, this is certainly the place to go. A lovely hotel in a great location - at the edge of Bonchurch village very close to the sea. The Tiffin Room restaurant is first class - our first taste of South Indian cooking. Sit in the beautifully spacious lounge... more

We stayed in the Bonchurch Manor Hotel for a week in August, and we had a most enjoyable stay. The food was excellent, and the room was rustic, but clean and comfortable, what we really liked in addition to the food was that there is nothing corporate about the Bonchurch, which is something we found refreshing!! more

We enjoyed the superb sea views but the bedroom and bathroom were really tatty- wonky loo seat, aged and stained bath and basin and stained, poorly-fitted carpeting which looked as though it had been cut with a blunt penknife. Also, the restaurant is always shut on Sunday and Monday evenings, which we didn't realise when we booked. It seems a... more

We have over 2000 adults, tens of children of all ages and several dogs staying in our 9 bed Guest Accommodation every year from April - October, usually back to back. Out of all these guests less than 1 % feel the need to be critical, albeit seldom in person or in our feedback book in the reception, but in...

It seems to depend very much on which rooms you get allocated how you rate your stay. We recently stayed in a very dissapointing and depressing room with shabby dated furniture and a saggy, aged bed. The ensuite was tatty and un-modernised and must have been at least twenty if not thirty years old. Whilst downstairs was very pleasant, upstairs... more

We have never claimed to be or wish to be a " boutique" accomodation. We are a simple, family owned business. On this occasion, we will refute your comments about unmodernised ensuite as all plumbing, showers and baths were renewed in 2004, after discovering that all showers trickled. We dont believe there were powers showers on the Isle of Wight...

I visited Bonchurch Manor with my two teenage sons. It is a fabulous place - like stepping back in time. Spotlessly clean, friendly, beautiful gardens, polite staff - made us feel welcome and looked after. The restaurant food was absolutely indescribable - I have never tasted such subtly flavored and beautifully prepared and presented Indian food. It is nothing like... more
