We have stayed here before about 8 years ago back then it was a little tired but it was ok. We came across the edelweiss this time on hotel.com site and the price was what attracted us this time if i'm honest it was only £90.00 for 3 nights b&b for a double room. The hotel had been taken over... More

We stayed at Edelweiss from Sat 15th - Tues 18th October 2011. Let's get the good bits out of the way. On arrival we were dealt with efficiently and, er that's it! Other reviews tell of the wonderful friendly staff - they must have been on holiday during our visit? We were pointed to an extremely small lift that could... More

When we were booking our Isle of Man holiday, there was a note in the brochure that said that the Edelweiss was closing its bar and opening a restaurant in March 2011. Knowing the unreliable climate of the Isle of Man, a hotel with a restaurant advertising meals for £12.50 per head seemed like a very good idea in case... More

I recently stayed here when I participated in the Isle of Man End2End mountain bike challenge. It was a great little hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. THey didn't even blink when we all arrived with muddy mountain bikes and asked to store them in their kitchen! My only complaint, and it's a very minor one (and the reason... More

A charming and helpful receptionist who made the booking in experience short and sweet greeted us. The pleasant and friendly lady in the dining room for breakfast was really on the ball with tea, coffee and toast of our choice arriving swiftly. When I asked for an addition to the full buffet breakfast the answer was yes of course. Our... More

When we booked it they must have had a bar but on arrival we discovered it is now a coffee shop it was not a problem as we were only staying a couple of nights, but if... More

Myself and wife stayed at the Edelweiss from 26th June to 1st July, 2011 and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Shirley and Liz were lovely. The room (a top floor bedroom with sea view) was compact and clean with en-suite facilities. Coffee and tea with kettle are provided plus a hairdryer. It was cleaned every day and towels changed... We stayed at the Adelweiss 27/6/2011 to 2/7/2011 on a b+b basis, the room we were allocated( 219) was on the small side with a view to the rear of the hotel. The room decor was good, bright and airy, the large double bed was comfortable, the shower was modern and looked new, the wall mounted digital tv with dvd... More

We stayed for four nights with a room on the top (fourth) floor - there is a (small) lift. The room was adequate as was the shower en-suite. The shower was very efficient. Breakfast was excellent and a lounge facility is provided, although it would not accomodate all guests. We were advised in advance that the bar had closed and... More
