Arrived on a cold November night to find no heating in the room and it apparently was due to come on at 9.30 when the leisure club heating goes off. They did provide an electric fan heater but not what you would expect. The TV did not work and looked circa 1980. The room was spacious but devoid of any... more

Mount Murray is only 10 minutes by car from Douglas. Unlike in Douglas, there is ample parking. The accommodation is spacious and clean, and the views are fantastic. It's never too far from anywhere. more

We stayed in the Mount Murray in July for a short holiday. We had previously stayed in Douglas itself and had difficulty getting parking when we were in our hotel so it was a delight to be able to park in comfort at the Mount Murray. The checkin at the hotel was speedy and the staff could not have been... more

i stayed here recently for a family wedding so plenty of us had booked in. rooms had been reserved for us and were all beside each other. this was handy for borrowing the ironing board etc. but i had my doubts about noise levels. i need not have feared. we couldn't hear a peep which made for a great nights... more

As other reviewers have said, it really is a wonder how the Mount Murray qualifies as a so-called four star property. Yes it may have a health club and indoor pool, but the standard of the rooms, courtesy of staff, and layout of the public areas are more in keeping with two star accommodation, perhaps stretching to three star at... more

I spent 2 nights in the hotel on business. Check in was quick and the staff were friendly. My room was in a part of the hotel connected by a walkway on an upper floor - from reception it was easier to go outside and walk across to the other wing then take the lift. My room was comfortable but... more

Stayed here for four nights. Quickly checked in and stayed in room 326 and 327 which was in quiet part of hotel. Rooms very big but furniture and curtain fixings looking tired. Take your own hair dryer as the hotel was full and they had run out at reception. Breakfast was taken upstairs and very good - overlooking golf course.... more

The Mount Murray is located some 15min drive from Douglas and offers a golf course, gym, and pool set in reasonably attractive surroundings. There are two entrances, the first arrives at the hotel through the manicured grounds, housing estate, lake. The second leads directly into the large carpark at the back of the hotel. Looking at the hotel closely will reveal... more

Family room was great (two rooms with interconnecting doors), what lets the Mount Murray down badly is the detail, bearing in mind it was only built approx 15 years ago. The windows are rotten, the outside needs paint, and the flag is ripped. If I’m paying for 4 stars I expect at least 3 1/2 stars. Nice hotel and would... more

This is the second time we have stayed at the Mount Murray. The 1st time was Sept 2008, It was great, couldn't really fault it. Check in went smoothly. Was pleasantly surprised with our room, it was a very good size, we had booked a King room, so had a lovely big bed, it also had a good sized sitting... more
