Stayed here for a few nights in an executive room with seaview-rooms are immaculate with a bed with one of the most comfortable mattresses ever. Fantastic shower in the bathroom . The major problem was the overwhelming heat in the rooms and corridors which made staying for any amount of time in the room impossible . Windows had to be... more

The room i was given overlooked the kitchens with the noisey fan the main problems were the windows only opened about 2-3 inches and the temp was over 30c in the room, i asked for a fan and i got a little 6" fan a waste of time. I spent 7 nights and never slept in the bed once. the... more

We booked the exclusive room with the sea view but were told very matter of factly when we arrived that it wasn't available and we have given you a twin. That room seemed ok but having been married twenty years we are quite used to a double bed, so we asked to be moved. This room ran downhill from the seaview-less... more

I spent five nights at the hotel as part of a coach party, which was mostly made up of elderly people. The steps into the hotel are steep and a bit of a death trap when they are wet. Curiously they're smooth tiles. The Rutland Hotel isn't alone with this dangerous type of surfacing, as I noticed that quite a... more

This hotel has done nothing to address the concerns of previous reviewers. It is a rabbit warren of stairs and corridors and not well signposted making our first trips to reception an adventure each time. A quarter of the rooms, ie 16 of the 64, still suffer from the awful noise from the extractor fans which made our room a... more

We stayed at theRutland for four nights with a coach party from Devon. Although the cleanliness of the rooms and the actual fittings cannot be faulted, beware of the "Most of our rooms have a sea view" promise. We were given, as were several of our party, a room overlooking a dirty courtyard and the kitchens. The noise from the kitchen... more

The rutland hotel is nice friendly place to stay. It wasn't busy when i stayed, so maybe thats why it was quieter then it would have been in the summber. But thats what i like about it. Apon arriving you do have some dangerous steps in when it raining but if you take care and hold on to the rail... more

Just returned from a 3 day break at the Rutland with my wife. We were visiting family in Douglas, so fortunately did not have to spend too much time at this hotel. On arrival we were given a room close to a large extractor device from the kitchen which we felt was noisy, even with the windows closed. We asked... more

This is a very mediocre 3 star hotel. The reception area was grubby and dirty and the staircase could have done with a good hoovering it was filthy. Our bedroom was on the 4th floor and although we had a very sloping room it was clean and the view was great. The week we visited was the grand prix week... more

Stayed for 5 days with a coach party at start of August. First impressions were the potentially dangerous tiled stairs into the building which were extremely slippy with the rain, then get given a key and find your own way to your room. Easier said than done as the building is a maze of half landings and dead ends and... more
