I had a late arrival and the check-in was clear and quick. The first impression was ok. Public areas were cleaned and tidy, the room was spacios and clean, and the restaurant, the food was brilliant and great value for money. I would go back again. more

Stayed at the Rutland Hotel for 6 nights 15-22 October. Part of a coach party and accompanied my 81 year old Father. I was a little worried when I read some of the comments but my fears had soon disappeared the minute we arrived. The good points - The hotel was very clean, bedrooms kept to a high standard and... more

The hotel was better than we had expected from the reviews. The steps were slippery when wet but they had wide abrasive strips along the edges, and there were handrails. The lift was small but we were on the fourth floor and never had to wait for more than about two minutes, and the staff brought the luggage up and... more

steep steps up into the hotel are dangerous. Slippery when wet which seems like most of the times and the lift is a joke. Room for 3 very small persons. It has to service 64 rooms over 4 floors so it is a nightmare at arrival and departure times also when people want to use the dining area at the... more

The food was great,we ate in two nights but on the third night we ate out as we could see how busy the restaurant was. My wife suffers from food allergies, although we did not mention this when booking the Chef... more

Stayed for 4 nights and had to have the fan on and every window open everytime we were in the room. The heat was oppressive . The lift was tiny and could only fit 2 people or 1 with bags. The alternative was the many stairways, which were very confusing. In the mornings and afternoons some of the corridors were... more

We got a very warm welcome to this lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is very close to everything that Douglas has to offer. The food was great, clean rooms - I will be coming back to the Rutland again. more
