We stayed at the end of June for five nights. Aurea and Tony made us very welcome from start. I can understand the other positive reviews given for this establishment. There was a Victorian/Edwardian feel about the house but, at the same time, it had the benefit of all the modern conveniences. The breakfasts were superb; home-made bread, jams and... more

My husband and I spent a few days on the Isle of Man as my hobby is family history and I was keen to see some of the locations that my ancestors knew. I was pleased to find Hillcrest because Ramsey was the town with most associations with them and the advertisment for the hotel specified that the ingredients in... more

But I am sure that the guests in the other rooms were equally comfortable and cared for. Tony and Aurea obviously take immense pride in the ambience they create so successfully. The house is most defintiely a home and has the relaxed feeling of being at home, and all the creature comforts are on hand as well as wonderful home... more

Let's face it, most of the establishments in the Isle of Man leave something to be desired (I can say that since I grew up there and even worked in one). I was not willing to spend a large amount of money for a shabby room in Douglas and listen to the lager louts parading the promenade at 2am. I... more

We very much enjoyed our three night stay at Hillcrest House. Aurea Greenhalgh made us very welcome: she certainly takes a pride in her hospitality. Her breakfasts were out of this world. The rooms were clean - and most importantly, not smoking. Some visitors may find the furnishings somewhat gloomy with college prewar photographs and old etchings. That is simply... more

We stayed here for four days in late March 2005. Although we would concur with many of the views expressed on TripAdvisor about Hillcrest and although it may be one of the better places in the Isle of Man, it's not worth five stars when viewed against the standard normally required in UK for this ranking. Yes the welcome is... more

If you like organic, home-cooked food, an impeccably ordered household and the chance to discuss alternative medicine and nutrition, you'll feel you've arrived in heaven when you meet Aurea and Tony at Hillcrest House. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay - and I'll certainly be going back there again this year. For me Hillcrest House offers the best... more

We have just returned from a few days at the Hillrest and were welcomed and treated like old friends. Aurea is a terrific cook and I could have lived on her breakfasts! All the food is organic and the juice is freshly squeezed with different combinations of fruit according to taste - I'd forgotten how delicious home cooking is as... more

My husband and I stayed at Hillcrest House, a B&B, during the 2004 TT. It is a lovely old Victorian house, right on May Hill (part of the TT course) in Ramsey, and within easy walking distance of both good viewing corners and of Ramsey Center, for restaurants and transportation. The bus and the Manx Electric Railroad are nearby, and... more

This intimate guest house must be one of the best, if not the best, on the Isle of Man. The house is beautifully decorated and has a calm and sophisticated atmosphere. The proprietors, Aurea and Tony, who do everything themselves, were incredibly helpful and friendly. We felt like we had stayed with friends rather than at a hotel. The breakfasts... more
