Recently went up to Whitley Bay with some friends for a fun weekend and booked ourself into the New Royal Hotel. A fantastic location with great views over the sea front and all the local hot spots close by.
We ate all weekend in Prego restaurant simply because the food was such good value - so glad we did as the food was AMAZING!
While the rooms in the hotel are quite basic, its perfect for a weekend get-away as all you really need is a clean room which we had - can't complain at all for the price, great value.
MYST nightclub is really nicely done out (recently I think?) although it was a bit quiet. I can't undersatnd why more people aren't in there as it is head and shoulders above all the other bars in Whitley Bay. I'm sure more people will be in there when the word gets out how nice it is inside - good music too.
All in all, a perfect location for a cheap weekend getaway and is the only place i'll consider when i'm next visiting the area. more
