Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed at the Trouville Hotel for a soul weekend. The hotel is right on the sea front, so great views of the sea , cliffs and pier. Room was very clean with a lovely modern bathroom. Great towels. Bed was really comfortable. The food, three course, was really good and great portion size. Full english breakfast, the same, with a choice of cereal, porridge, fresh fruit, yoghurt, kippers and juices. Delicious all round. The staff were so friendly, everyone, reception, bar staff, restaurant staff and cleaners. Nothing was too much trouble. An all round great stay. Would definately return. Thank you Trouville.

I have just enjoyed a lovely out of season w/e break with Barnes Coaches - a bright comfortable first floor room with sea views - perfect! Helpful friendly staff and good food - I didn't find the room for a game of mat bowls or table tennis until too late - (out enjoying trips round the Isle) - maybe next time!

We had an enjoyable stay once again over Christmas. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The food and entertainment was wonderful and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the fact there is only one lift and many residents are unable to use the very steep staircase, this should be considered when booking as there is often a wait for the lift as it is also used by staff for moving equipment.

We were delighted with all the delicious meals and the attention of the staff. The decorations were beautifully done and the table decorations were changed every day and that made the occasion very special . We have nothing but praise and thanks for all concerned. We think that the fact that this is a family run hotel gives it that extra touch for all its guests.

We went with a coach company Monday to Friday to this hotel. The hotel was clean, rooms were fairly comfortable and in late November glad to say the heating worked well. The food was good quality throughout our stay, the bar prices were reasonable. We were lucky to have a room on the first floor overlooking the promenade the view was spectacular looking out over the Solent. There was a lift but very small so often a line to use it. The negative was that the surrounding area was very rundown the next couple of hotels on the promenade were derelict and we found that a lot of places all over the Isle of Wight were closed for the season. A plus point that it was easy to travel around the island on the buses at £2 per journey. Clean and on time we traveled to Osborne house on the bus which then stops right outside the house.

Have just spent an amazing few days at this lovely hotel. The staff have been great, Reception, Entertainments, Room cleaners, Bar staff and Restaurant staff. (Sorry if I have forgotten anyone) Have been so friendly, helpful and patient. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole hotel, bedrooms, restaurant, bar, dining room and toilets were spotless. The food was delicious with a good range of choice for every meal. An added bonus is that the bus stops are near the hotel. My first visit but I will certainly come again. Thank you all.

Been to The Trouville on many occasions over the last few years for Linedancing weekends, and it's never disappointed. In fact we have booked again for October next year It's position right on the seafront is great, and all double rooms overlook the sea (as far as I am aware). The food has always been good, and the staff pleasant and efficient. In fact the staff could not do enough for us. Its nice that our double room had 2 chairs as most hotels only suppy 1, so one person has to stand or sit on the bed. Only negatives are parking, which is not overly convenient, only one small lift, and the area is a bit run down with empty buildings along the seafront Overall, though, I highly recommend this hotel.
