The Broadway park is a former Victorian mansion house, once home to a wealthy entrepreneur. Today this handsome hotel retains many of its original features and is set within four acres of picturesque grounds. The gardens are home to a variety of wildlife including rare Isle of Wight Red Squirrels, foxes and badgers. This is the perfect setting to get away and relax and you are always assured of a warm welcome. The hotel has three comfortable lounges and a recently refurbished ballroom in which to enjoy the regular evening entertainment. The leisure facilities include a snooker room and there is also parking within the grounds. Whilst here you are sure to enjoy the tranquillity of the setting but it is just a 15 minute walk to the town centre and seafront where there is plenty to see and do.

As i was spending a few days on the island for wark I thought i'd give it a try, It was at a reasonable price and the grounds looked nice from the photos. Didn't have the best of starts when they charged for parking (Was listed as free parking when i booked) To then struggle to park after paying for a few days was even more frustrating. The room was a bit of a walk down a few flights of steps. It was looking very tired to say the least - the carpets looked like they would have suited the 70's and were poorly fitting it just seemed a shame. It looks like there were coach trips stopping there so there seemed to be quite a few people around. The room its self was servicable although the window looked like it had seen better days. The breakfast was nice enough and the service was friendly. Its could be a really nice place to stay with some TLC and investment and other than the parking charge which was more annoying than anything it was about right for the price…

Looks fantastic externally - from a distance, but get closer and the peeling paintwork is a portent of things to come. Inside, my room was very dated. The hotel seems to cater for coach trippers. Breakfast was fine for the £10 extra charge. I do appreciate that old character buildings need a lot of up-keep. However, given the alternative of an anodyne chain hotel, at least you know you'll get a minimum standard which will be better than this.

Firstly can I say that the staff that were there, worked their socks off. But everything else was terrible. Lack of staff and the hotel up for sale made this holiday into a bit of a fawlty tower’s experience. A very run down building which desperately needs updating. Definitely won’t be staying there again.

You need a car to use this hotel as it is away from the usual tourist area . The hotel is good it is quiet and lovely gardens and courtyard to relax in on a sunny day . Our room 335 was good ,basic ,clean . however I feel that lack of staff in the dining room that was full each night lets the hotel down . We waited almost an hour on our first night for the first course and long gap each night . You order the day before for the evening meal .On the Tuesday I ordered steak pie what was on my plate was a steak and mushroom pudding . As i have an intolerance to fungi that meal as wasted . Our waitress was most apologetic but at no time as requested did anyone from the kitchen come out and explain why the error orders . I have made it known to the general manager that it could have made me very ill . So that is a point against this lovely hotel . I have to use a walking aid and the car park is on a slope that is hard to get down to where our coach was parked but there are disabled car parking bays very close to the ramp into the hotel.…

Thank you for your detailed review. It was myself that you spoke to about your intolerance, and i can assure you that it was not a mushroom that was in our steak pie, its was a steak and kidney pudding, myself and the chef checked the ingredients list with the manufacturer, so no mushrooms were present. I can only apologize for the staff shortages we encountered during your stay, but glad you enjoyed the tranquility and location of our hotel.

Firstly a lot of negative reviews but this is a reasonably priced 3 star hotel and looking at past reviews the hotel has obviously made efforts to address concerns. The main building and grounds are lovely and well kept. Our room initially the bath and shower didn’t not work but we were moved immediately and the room was a nice size, the bed was comfortable and clean. The bath was heaven the water fast flowing and hot. There was nice views of garden and trees out of the window. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Beware there is a supplementary charge of £1 per night to park in their car park of which a lot of people complaining. Why not just add to the price of the room to avoid negativity? We met an elderly gent in the corridor who warned us that the cooked breakfast was inedible that there was no choice of eggs only scrambled but that was apparently off-smelling and off-tasting We thought god people like to moan but when we sat down and had our first breakfast he was spot on. The bacon was hard and all stuck together. The cold food which consisted of various cereals, croissants, pastries, fruit and yogurt and toast was lovely. People have complained a lot in past reviews about the cooked breakfast so this really needs addressing as a matter of urgency. Would I stay here again yes definitely for the price we paid I still think it was a great bargain. …

The staff are friendly. 1st room decor belonged in the 1980’s, the carpet was filthy, rubbish behind the bin, wallpaper coming off the ceiling & the wardrobe was missing a door. Spoke to receptionist, advised were would be moved, she said she would check the room was clean. 2nd room cobwebs all over, mould on skirting boards, chipped paint, damaged walls. Bathroom floor sagging in front of the sink, bathroom door didn’t have a catch or lock. Corridors full of dust & cobwebs. In the restaurant the cups were chipped & stained. The scrambled eggs looked curdled. It could be a nice hotel if it was clean & updated.

Value for money but feel like it could do with some sprucing up. All staff are excellent and very professional. Even with a medical situation to attend to during evening dinner there was still very little delay with the service. Well done Brooke, kieren, Fiona and all the team.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the staff are great. Now for the bad bits ,we had no idea that the hotel had changed to a dog friendly hotel, all rooms are dog friendly, they were allowed in the dining area, and were allowed to run around without a lead on. We also experienced a dog owner who couldn't be bothered to clean up after the dog had messed right outside reception. Never going back whilst dogs are allowed.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your review, and understand not everyone is a dog lover, but we definitely are at the Broadway Park! Even so, we strive for guests to keep their pets under control, and it is standard practice to use a separate room for our pet owners to enjoy breakfast in. We would not encourage dogs off lead or fouling outside and not being picked up! If you wish to discuss any of this further then please do get in touch.
