This was our third short break at Chad Hill and as always it was as pleasent as ever. The accomodation is of a high standard given the age of the hotel.Meals were,to say the least,of generous portions with a good set menu choice which changed daily. It`s hardly the venue for a romantic stay if your young and want an all singing... more

My children stayed here as part of a group, so I have not seen the hotel myself and can't comment on it specifically or indeed rate all areas accurately but they had a great time and were full of praise for the friendly owners who were extremely helpful in accommodating food allergies - thank you very much! They enjoyed the... more

the room we where in which was right by the front door, (noisy) was so overcrowded with furniture we believe it was actually the storage room. the furniture was excessive and in a couple of cases unusable due to the position it was in. To draw or close the curtains we had to reach over the dressing table and the... more

I stayed for 3 nights and would be prepared to stay again. The room was a reasonable size with a comfortable enough bed. The décor is old style, with a couple of nice Victorian chairs and a remote control TV which worked (Not always the case). There was tea and coffee making facilities, but I was disappointed that the cup... more

the propretiers are freindly and welcoming. The rooms however need updating as decor is bad and the room shower was a trickle.Room we had was a family room but had a shower and therfore not really suitable for this purpose. The breakfast were cooked to perfection however the dining room was crowded with tables and therfore felt uncomfortable if all residents... more

This was not my first choice, but all hotels I liked the look of were full, due to late booking. It's more of a guest house than a hotel, and it's firmly rooted in the 80's - I remember staying in places like that as a child. The room was small, the 4 poster was uncomfortable to say the least.... more

Comfortable small hotel in a quiet location, but within easy reach of all the town's amenities. Clean, with friendly staff and a varied menu. Typical Victorian house with character and a few creaks, but good value and a pleasant stay. Would definitely have a short break here again. more

When we arrived we decided to take the four poster room. It was very poor and the four poster looked like it had been contructed with waste pallets. The en-suite was like something from the 60`s and the linen was not changed daily. The bath towels were not replaced and the room was very small. The wiring on the bedside... more

Unfair comments re. the 4 poster. This was bought 2007 from Dreams the bed shop. The customer had not booked a 4 poster but opted for it on arrival. The customer stayed 2nights, at £25.00 per night we do not change bed linen daily. Towels are changed if requested, daily, otherwise every other day. For breakfast he did not mention juices,...

Decor was old and the hotel had a distinct " old" odour. Bedroom was small. The bed had sunk in the middle with badly stained matress. The blankets and sheets were clean though. The shower area was extreamly small. I kept on banging my elbows on the wall whe washing. (I am not a particulary big person) The breakfast was... more

I can recommend this hotel. My wife and I stayed there recently, we were going to stay for one night, however we enjoyed the hotel so much we decided to extend our stay. The key to the bonhomie atmosphere of this very quite and very reasonable establishment, which is slightly of the beaten-track, is the warmth and care given by... more
