After a week long conference at the Cygnet hotel i can confirm we did not have no probelms. The staff, mamangment, hotel and surrounding areas were more than expected. I have viewed the other reviews but can suggest the hotel has been taken over by new managemnet Mr & Mrs Wilson who looked after us very well. We are returning... more

For the money you are paying it is great value. I had visions the hotel may be like Fawlty Towers but was proved wrong. The rooms were clean, large and better than I expected. The bar is very large and cheap compared to others located nearby (£2.50 for a pint of John Smiths). The entertainment was also very good. The... more

Was met by friendly staff on day of arrival. Room was clean, tidy and of good size, as was ensuite. Maid service was prompt, and room was cleaned every day except Sunday, with unlimited supply of clean towels, tea, milk etc., Meals were of excellent quality, with nothing too much trouble for the waitresses. Evening entertainment sometimes could have been... more

Worse hotel we have ever stayed in, every one we spoke to felt the same. Dirty cutlery in dining hall sent back on numerous occations, leaking toilet in reception area was reported the day we arrived, but was in the same the day we left. Asked for extra milk was told we had had our qoutation, even offered to pay... more

Was sold this trip by a tour organiser who gave a brochure showing outdoor pool etc. On arrival hotel very unkempt, letter T missing from sign ,paint and varnish flaking at front entrance. Managers extremely sarcastic. No hairdryer in room (as advertised). There was a massive dead spider in corner of bedroom with surrounding cobweb and damp patch. One single... more

I booked a party of 20 to go to the Cygnet Hotel which had received fair good review up to the last few which were somewhat negative, so was a bit apprehensive but it was booked via a Tour operator as a total coach package so had no option of changing. The hotel can be described as a typical British... more

Expected hotel facilities to be as their website description: Heated swimming pool: Water was COLD and very steep and difficult "ladder" entry to pool Spa pool/jacuzzi: Not available. Was empty and looked dirty as if not used for months Sauna: Not unless £3 was put in coin operated machine but it didnt seem "ready to use" and no-one around to... more

Having stayed for seven nights i can honestly say that i would not go there again. The Hotel location left a lot to be desired. The bathroom was covered in mould ,the food standard was very poor, and if it was not for the pleasantness of our waitress the whole holiday would have been unbearable. The value for money was poor. more

We expected three star value and got more. The hotel is as good as you will get for the money. Food is tasty and plentiful and always hot (okay, apart from the salads smart ---). We did not have to eat out once during our week's stay. Only a couple of things let the place down. The "heated outdoor pool"... more
