The criticisms I read before going to the Grand were written in August, my Wife and I went in October, nothing had changed! the revolving door still didn't revolve, the roof still leaked, the jacuzzi was dry, the reception was unmanned and tatty, there was still a hand bell to call for attention, the bedroom was in need of decorating.... more

We had a wonderful few days. The staff were excellent. Helpfull and friendly it felt like a family hotel. A step back in time to a relaxed era. Grandure even if a little faded. This is a great hotel with a lot of character! I'm hoping it will stay this way and original features be kept. There are very few deco era hotels left in the UK.
