I travel on business to many places World wide and I am ashamed to admit that the worst hospitality encountered in many years was in my own country. Where do I start? The room not clean, breakfast was refused because I was nine minutes too late getting into dining room, at the bar I listen to arguments about overcharging when... more

We stayed there over the bells for two nights. The hotel is a lovely setting but quite frankly the room was abysmal as were the residents lounge and bar area. In fairness the dining room and function suite are very tastefully done and the owners are civil enough, the staff were very good, however they really should invest some funds... more

I contacted the hotel by e mail to book 4/5 rooms for 8/10 people over a weekend. I was given a price of £75 per night per person DBB. I telephoned and booked 4 rooms and provisionally booked the fifth room. I was asked for and left a credit card number. When I called to say that the fifth room... more

This is a lovely small Scottish Hotel that is full of character. You know from the peacocks that run free in the grounds that this is not just another bland hotel that is instantly forgetable. The room was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities that you will need. The bar and lounge were cosy and the dining... more

The hotel is conveniently located and has ample parking. The grounds are gorgeous and it is easily within walking distance of the shops, cafes and riverside walks. The owners and staff are pleasant, the dining room lovelly. However the rooms are of a very poor standard for the price. Old and worn furniture, old-fashioned decor and curtains and don't get... more

Recently stayed here for a family wedding and was extremely disappointed. Room was located in converted stables/outbuildings at rear of hotel. Room was small, and very basic, and extremely overpriced for quality of accomodation. Rooms in the main house - may have been of higher standard, but suggest confirm room location when booking. Service was average, and quality and quantity... more

We have just come back from a stay here and were very disappointed. We arrived at 8pm and after having been told on booking we would be able to get a light meal, found the restaurant closed. We asked for a recommendation on where to eat, but when we found it the place was closed. We eventually got a bar... more

This is a lovely country manor house hotel right off the main road through Blairgowrie. It's secluded yet within walking distance into town. We arrived and had booked a double room and got upgraded to the Altamount Room at no additional cost. It was a lovely surprise and a lovely room. Big comfortable king-sized bed, linens were crisp and clean.... more

Stayed at the Altamount Hotel in June 2003. Was pleased with the hotel and surroundings. If staying, ask for the Altamount room - it has the best view and the largest bed I have ever seen. Restuarant is closed on some nights and not much choice in Blairgowrie. more
