I visited for the fourth time on business with colleagues. The hotel location, rooms and clealiness cannot be faulted. The car parking is restricted. The bar service excellent if a little pricey. Unfortunately the staff tried too hard with the food service and failed because I think that they did try too hard. The dinner for our group of 11... more
A wekend break in South West wales saw us at the Abbey, mind the drain cover up the driveway, clunk !! never mind. Our suite was in the lodge a short walk from the hotels main entrance, no problem in the sunshine but a pain to be had in poor weather. Recently rennovated our suite was roomy and quite well... more
Myself and my husband have stayed at Penally Abbey at least once a year for the last ten years and love it! I wanted to comment on the fantastic New Years Eve we have just had at this hotel but have just read the previous review I feel I must go into more detail as I am astonished at some... more
We had seen recommendations for this hotel in a number of publications and decided to book New Year's Eve despite the horrifying price.... £301 for dinner, bed and breakfast in a standard room. We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of October and had a lovely stay. We had specifically asked for a superior room in the main Abbey Hotel after reading some other reviews and we were absolutely delighted with it. The room was of an adequate standard although a bit dated, and even though we had asked if it was apeacful lcoation you could hear the road noise from the room. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom of good standard. The options for an evening meal was very limited with a set menu at a rather inflated price and... more
We stayed here for 4 nights in July and booked two rooms in St Deniol's Lodge. The rooms were very nice, clean and bright. The bathroom was lovely with an excellent bath and shower although the other room only had a shower and was quite a bit smaller. The restaurant is lovely and the food was fine although we felt... more
Lovely building with a great location far enough from Tenby to be quiet but close enough to be convenient. Great views over the golf course to the sea, very friendly staff, restaurant food excellent and a good breakfast, loads of choice. It is fairly pricey, decor kept very old but very comfy, nice place to relax. more
