We decided to stay at the Crimond on the recommendation of a book called Pets Welcome as we were taking our dog with us for a short break. The hotel itself is located in a quieter part of Southport which suited us fine but the much talked of indoor swimming pool was actually in the back garden with no proper... More

I have stayed at the Crimond on several occasions when I have been visiting relatives in Southport and have always been made most welcome by the family who run it. The hotel is quiet, pretty, clean and comfortable and provides a very generous breakfast. It is a short walk either to the lovely seafront or into town. Should you decide... More

If you like to see the same person serving breakfast and tending the late night bar, this will suit you. A small family run place, old fashioned decor, steep stairs, corridors on several levels. We had a large room on the front, massive old furniture gave it character, beds had pretty trimmings. Bathroom tired looking and small but everything worked.... More

Dean, an owner, was very nice and friendly to us. We stayed three nights. I thought breakfast was good and they gave good advice on how to get to the football game. We found the place through the local Liverpool tourism website and honestly it was one of the few places with a booking available during the national races on... More

Awful! Not a great welcome - carried considerable luggage up to the attic rooms up the narrow staircase....Dirty 'stuff' coming out of the kettle, T V on the blink, shower a disaster - either scalding hot or a pitiful dribble, toilet wouldnt flush. 'Continental' breakfast (?!!) consisted of a mere bowl of cereal & one glass of orange juice -... More

This is tired and tatty hotel that has obviously enjoyed better times and is now passed its sell by date. Every feature of the place is dated (probably mid 1980's) and in need of a complete revamp. I had an uncomforable bed and the plumbing is sporadic and noisy. I accept that £70 per night for a twin room is... More
