We had a lovely short break at the Balmoral Hotel. We arrived around lunchtime and were greeted by the owners who offered us tea and coffee in the lounge. I have just stayed at the Balmoral for 4 weeks and could not have wished for a more pleasant holiday......the staff were second to none...we had a good laugh and I was made to feel very at home with them. Where do I start? Dark corridors with poor lighting ( fell down some stairs at 10.30pm due to lights off and switch was at foot of stairs), room needed hoovered and dusted and they had an obsession with rugs. We booked this hotel for last Friday to celebrate our anniversary there and it was absolutely brilliant! The location is in the quiet area within the walking distance from the Train Station. you have to remember it is only 2 star if you want the ritz stay at the ritz!! easy to find great location nr town but no noise from the town just a 5 min walk. staff were friendly and hotel was clean.the delux room was a good size tho the big bed did turn out to be 2 single... more
Stayed in what was suppose to be deluxe room, with a king size bed, which happened to be two beds pushed together, top quilt being very nice, with matching curtains, only to find underneath 2 single brown, not matching duvets. Have just come back from a stay at the Balmoral Lodge and loved it. Check in was quick, easy and friendly and our bags were taken to our rooms.
