Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To finish our holiday off, a two night stay on our way home from Herefordshire. And what a beautiful place they have made here with oh so comfortable large beds. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. A perfect end to our holiday. Would thoroughly recommend.

The Barn has had some great reviews and in the whole I wouldn’t disagree however, it’s not quite as amazing as it’s made out to be, there are a few annoying snags. The staff are excellent, but don’t expect to be waited on hand and foot, personally I like the fact they’re distant. The concept is to come and chill in the main barn and help yourself to drinks. The barn runs a honesty bar policy. The self contained room was decorated well with beautifully spacious bathroom. We were in the Tennyson. The cookies were lovely! There’s a great little outside space that’s secluded and peaceful. It’s not a place for a session though, we felt constantly reminded to keep our voices down (it was only my fiancé and myself) bye to the close proximity of your neighbours. I get that you don’t go away to watch tv, but it really winds me up when hotels can’t sort their reception out! We were treated to bbc1, bbc2 and my all time favourite.... Drama. I do love a detective show from the 80’s! No air con in the room. Yes, it’s unusually hot, air con would’ve been good. Superb breakfast. Great selection and the full English was brilliant. All in all a great place, I’d definitively recommend it for anyone that wants to be out the way (3 miles to any pubs or restaurants). Walkers will love it.

The drive up to The Barn is through a long leafy lane. On arrival you are meet by a high roofed imposing building with beams visible through the massive window. On entering the building the only word is wow, I just loved it , it had such a lovely feel about it, the staff were there to meet us and make us feel welcome. On checking it we were taken to our room and we weren’t disappointed, as the weather was so hot a larger fan was a welcome sight. Everything about the place was gorgeous, large bed , massive shower and lovely decor, The place and staff are a credit to owners I’m just sad to hear it’s been sold so will not be available after September which is a real shame. The breakfast was also delicious a small selection of fruit , muffins were brought to the table and then you could order from the menu. I had boiled eggs and soldiers and while that might sound basic it was scummy. My husband had smoked salmon and scrambled egg which again was delicious.

Gorgeous barn, very peaceful and quite. Rooms have a cosy feel and staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was average a bit disappointing as not a lot of choice. All in all a pleasant stay, would recommend.

Lovely, friendly, quiet retreat to eat amazing food, enjoy comfortable and stylish accommodation and get away from your day to day busy life. There is an extensive wine cellar and, although there isn't a choice of menu, we've always had an amazing meal here. We love this hidden gem.

We arrived after a stressful drive from Derbyshire traffic jams all the way ! We found our oasis down an enchanting drive of trees and ferns a real dingle dell ! A warm welcome by a lovely lady who showed us to our cosy room with large bathroom. Each room has a hidden pathway which was very tranquil with the sun shining the wind blowing through the leaves of all the various shrubs. We had a very restful night lovely comfortable bed and pillows !! Breakfast was served in an amazing renovated barn full English, fresh fruit and tea for us. All well cooked and freshly done to order. We ate locally at the Noah’s ark pub that the evening, which was very good. Fantastic stay thank you .

Really enjoyed this unusual B&B. The care that has been taken in the design - both in the barn and in our room - was appreciated. Made welcome. Everything was spacious, clean, comfortable. Is worth bearing in mind that a tour of the adjacent (owners) garden that has also been lovingly tended is dependant upon owner's availability - we were unlucky and not able to view. The views over the country and adjacent hill from the 1/2 mile drive are beautiful - and my wife particularly liked the foliage screening our room from the quiet courtyard which gave a lot of privacy.
