We arrived at the Portcullis after driving from Glasgow Prestwik Airport and got a welcome break when we reached the hotel. The hotel is a small and charming place where you instantly feel relaxed. We enjoyed our stay at the Portcullis Hotel. It is right next to the Castle, and we found Stirling to be a wonderful town. The rooms are standard, and the bathroom was clean and recently refurbished. Dinner in the pub was very good, and the pub features cask conditioned ales. more

Hello. I never stayed at this hotel, but the owner is an alcoholic thug who attacked me in a case of mistaken identity. My wife and I spent 1 night here in August, 2005 and enjoyed it very much. The staff for this small hotel is a bit lackluster but we didn't choose The Portcullis to be pampered. We stayed for one night at the Portcullis on a jaunt from Land's End to John O'Groats (by car!) and thought it was a really Scottish experience.
