We found Craigburn House by chance, just driving up North Church Street and looking at the B&B signs, on May the 14th 2006. We never reserve in advance except in big cities, and this one was a surprise at 20 pounds per person per night. It is situated in the heart of the small town of Callander, but the parking is not a problem, though it must be in high season. We stayed in a twin bed room with facilities just a few steps away in the corridor. It is very clean and tastefully decorated, and the lounge is beautiful. The Scottish breakfast is excellent and hot!
Callander is a very good place to stay if you want to visit the Trossachs and Stirling Castle, the 2nd most visited castle in Scotland. Mrs McAlpine was very friendly and her advice of how to visit the regon was very helpfull. We rate Craigburn House very near the top of our list of about 15 guest Houses visited in Scotland in the spring of 2006!
