We discovered Sleightholmedale 6 years ago. It is located in an almost secret valley, on the southern edge of the North York Moors. There are a number of cottages converted from farm buildings and although they are not luxurious (no dishwashers, small bathrooms), they are comfortable and well maintained. But the main attraction is the location - if you enjoy peace, quiet, lovely countryside, pleasant walks and wildlife, then this is the place for you!
If you also like beautiful gardens, then you are on to a winner. The cottages are adjacent to a country house with a splendid garden, which you are free to enjoy (except at the weekends). There is a lovely walled garden, full of roses, clematis, peonies, etc etc. There is a meadow adjacent to it with cherry trees, wild flowers and beds of meconopsis, azalea, more roses, and more.
