We recently stayed at the Beech Farm for one week in Dove Cottage. The farm consists of converted farm buildings and cottages provide accommodation from 2 people to 10! Set around a courtyard with views into surrounding farmland, this is an excellent place to stay for families. There's a small play area for younger kids and a place to kick around a ball. There are two llamas in the field, chickens and a lovely pony for the kids to get close to real animal life! On top of that there is an indoor heated swimming pool which is great for relaxing after a long day sightseeing.
All the cottages are well equipped. In Dove Cottage, although the kitchen was no more than a corner space, it did have everything we needed for preparing meals ( oven, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, even corkscrew.) The rooms were spotlessly clean and you could see that even the cooking utensils and tableware had been scrubbed clean. When you arrive there's even a homemade cake waiting for you.
