Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed in the Lothersdale hotel in Morecambe for the first time for 2 nights. It was fab. Afternoon tea was amazing. The Aspect bistro was a lovely place to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down. Rooms may be small but we had all we needed. Breakfast was nice, and the staff always friendly and attentive. We will deffo stay there again.

I booked an executive double room and what we got was a pokey room with a view ove the car park with rubbish skips and debris. The pillows were misshapen and rock hard. The sheets were too small for the bed. No one in reception on arrival so unable to sort a better room. Won't ever be back 😕

Easy to find as its on the front with sea views. Car parking is around the back of the hotel. The staff are friendly and polite and will do what they can to make your stay fantastic. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Tea coffee and milk with biscuits are in your room. Tastefully decorated throughout. Breakfast was beautiful especially the sausages. The breakfast room was clean, decor was nice with lovely sea views

The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard, the bedroom had a wonderful view of the lifeboat station and the coastline. Now for it…..The staff are not trained in hygiene breakfast preparations. The food does not come out until after you enter, not even the plates, the sausage were not cooked, bacon was cold and you had to wait several times to restock the table with all ingredients and they were back and forward with bread, they brought 8 pieces of bread out at a time, 6 eggs at at time. We were a coach of 40 people and they just didn’t know how to handle the demand. One of the days we had roast beef, my plate was full of fat and it was like leather, I requested the assistant take it back to the chief and others did the same.one day we had trifle, the assistant carried several of them under her arms, (hygiene.) None of the tables were cleared away fully after evening meal. We will not return again. It’s a shame it’s a loverly hotel but they don’t cater for a influx of quest at one time.

We had an overnight stay at this hotel in August. Sadly, we were immediately put off within 2 seconds of walking in the door by the receptionist who glared at us and shouted across the reception area that Check in wasn’t until 3pm. She didn’t even give us chance to approach the desk. Firstly, we didn’t take any luggage in with us so the receptionist had no way of knowing who we were and whether we intended to check in or not. Secondly, we were well aware of the check in time and as we were 40 minutes early for this, we merely entered the hotel with the intention of asking if they had a bar where we could have a drink whilst we waited for said time. Not a good start! Once we did check in, however, our room was lovely with a large bay window overlooking the bay. The bathroom was very modern, and there was a separate seating area. There were no frills however, no complimentary water or fridge in the room, breakfast was very basic. Staff in the bar were lacking in training, I asked for a brandy which caused a lot of confusion and scratching of heads. We had to vacate the bar also as it was reserved for a private function. All in all not the best stay but on a positive note we loved the room.

Booked a superior twin room with sea view. Room was very nice and view lovely. The downside was the bathroom. Quite the smallest I have seen in a hotel. The shower was very dated also. The door to bathroom was a bi-fold as a normal door would not have fitted. Spoilt the experience for us. The breakfast was really good.

Best avoided horrible receptionist unhelpful and rude. Not able to check in and leave bags before 3pm. We’re told “ to go away and come back at 3pm”. Had to specify a time you wanted breakfast so we didn’t bother. Room was small and smelt stale. Cleanliness was ok ish plenty of refreshments in room plus hairdryer and iron. Ok if you are coming for a one night and you want no frills and no customer care.

This isn't a bad hotel, far from it but: - 1. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work (which as I was there for work is annoying) 2. At check-in the hotel took £50 on my card for extras which is fine (standard practice). When I checked out I received a paper copy VAT invoice (so I can claim back from work) for £81.95 which is also fine. However my credit card statement shows a transaction of £131.95 - I know this is an admin error but it's just hassle and time-consuming to have to ring them up and get my refund. It's just a pain in the backside that I could do without. Breakfast was good but the poor lady serving front-of-house was so miserable it was funny (well, I found it funny at least). We all have bad days, but she must have been having an absolutely awful day (and it wasn't even 8am, lol)
