The hotel is perfectly-positioned between the Snowdonian mountains and the Cambrian coast, just outside the pretty seaside village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi in traditional Welsh). With panoramic sea views, the Trefeddian Hotel's accommodation is the perfect place to enjoy crisp mornings and sun speckled afternoons. Each of our 59 hotel bedrooms and three self-catering units are well equipped with all the modern comforts you need to feel right at home. We have a range of sea view and hill view bedrooms, with a lift to all floors. Quietly charming and traditional, the Trefeddian Hotel has been passed down the generations of the Cave-Browne-Cave family who firmly believe in 'good old-fashioned hospitality'. Nothing is too much trouble, just let us know any special requirements, we will do our very best to meet them. Being an award winning family friendly hotel, the Trefeddian is the ideal place for a family holiday in Wales, there is just so much to do, rain or shine!

Spent two nights at this lovely hotel. Such a fabulous position overlooking the golf course and Cardigan Bay. It's a kind of mini environment where we got sunshine while other nearby areas had rain. Breakfasts were good as was the evening meals. Service in the restaurant was excellent, but a little too fast. The five course menu served by lovely friendly staff. The the staff make this hotel. They are so helpful, motivated and client centred throughout the hotel. Must not forget the house keeping staff as they also made the effort to chat to us. What can I say? Good food. Lovely room with lovely balcony. Nice reception staff, nice bar young man. I just loved the original art work displayed throughout this lovely hotel. Nice restaurant staff. We will definitely return.

Hotel's Favourite
What a wonderful hotel and in a perfect setting for a relaxing winter break. It is so hard to find places these days that combine first class comfort and excellent service. We were very fortunate to arrive the day after the second of two winter storms, but had we encountered them then the hotel would have provided us with everything we wanted to enjoy our time there. The four lounges are varied, comfortable and spacious and the staff knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. A member of the service staff spotted me taking a cool bag to the car to keep milk cool overnight and directed me to use a small fridge in a service room instead which was so useful. We did have a few small queries but not only were these quickly resolved but one duty manager, Sally, took the trouble to find us in the lounge later and update us on them. She is a gem, as all the staff are - I am allergic to vinegar and I was asked this on arrival. I was so impressed to see that on the table menu each evening the dishes containing vinegar were clearly marked. Thanks for that. Our room was warm and cosy and had all the facilities we needed with a superb view across the golf course and the sand dunes towards the beach. Our only regret is we didn't have the time to enjoy the games facilities on site - we were too busy exploring the local area in reasonable weather for January. We used our bus pass to go to Towyn and also walked along the beach to Aberdovey. Highly recommended

We had a gluten free vegetarian and a lactose free person in our party. The restaurant had been told this, and had gone to a lot of trouble to mark the evening's menu to indicate what was already G/F and L/F, and what could be adapted if requested. The food was excellent - particularly good were the seared tuna and the roast beef. The waitress could not have been more friendly and helpful. Also: the dining room is very elegant and pleasant. Highly recommended.

Amazing views and great food - a perfect combo! We love this hotel, it's setting is perfect with elevated views across the sea and sand dunes and the peaceful lounges with comfy sofas and glossy magazines. You get the feeling that many guests have been visiting for many years and the guests are mainly 50 + age range which gives the whole place a "grown up" feel which works for us. The contemporary decor combined with vintage silver ware on the tables works well and the food offer is varied and tasty. The bedrooms seem to vary quite a lot in size and decor and the sea facing rooms are worth that bit extra, they tend to be fairly compact in size. Maybe a bath robe would be usefully provided to use when popping down to the pool as the changing room is not spacious.

Our sixth visit did not disappoint. Weather very variable but we wanted a complete rest anyway. Lovely walks on the beach. The staff were as efficient and friendly as ever. A unique privately owned holiday hotel with it's own unique ambiance, outside surroundings and views. Many different room options. Golf course a few minutes walk away. Ten or so car charging points. We hope to be back next year.

After visiting the hotel most years for 25 years as a child it was time to return with my family. The breakfast was as good as I remember but that's about it. For the cost (just over £400) for less than 24hrs (2 adults and 1 baby), including sandwiches for lunch and dinner for a young family I thought it was expensive for the quality of the rooms and facilities. The play room for kids was really underwhelming and was exactly the same back in the 90s, it probably had more stuff in there back then - it has great potential same with the play park. The chipping green had improved and was fun. The rooms had no air con, sea view with the sun blaring in all day it was very warm. The shower and bathroom facilities were very dated, small and lacked power in the shower. Staff were friendly but the hotel is really suited to older couples than it is younger families we won't be returning.

Annual visit to this lovely hotel. Why do we keeping coming back? Calming atmosphere, always made to feel welcome and long standing staff remember us. Food is excellent, lots of choice and no feeling of being rushed. It’s nice to be able to “dress for dinner” in smart clothes rather than jeans and jumpers etc. This is a long standing hotel policy and the majority of residents adhere to this which makes the evening dining experience feel special. Room always well presented, clean and spacious with good hospitality tray. Front sea view rooms give panoramic views over front lawns, golf course, dunes and the sea beyond. Will we come back, most definitely, provisionally booked for 2024 before leaving. Thank you Trefeddian.

This Hotel is possibly the best I have stayed at in the UK. Myself and family have stayed here many times over the past few years and it never fails to disappoint. Fantastic rooms, lovely sitting rooms, a games room for kids, snooker room, indoor pool, The list goes on. Everything catered for in a beautiful setting overlooking the dunes and sea. On top of all of this is the spectacular evening meal menu included in the price of the stay, 5 courses of delicious treats. Along with a lovely breakfast menu. Also the amazing friendly , helpful staff This Hotel really does have it all. Very highly recommended.

We have just returned having stayed 2 wonderful nights and days at the Trefeddian Hotel. The hotel is set up overlooking the golf course and sea. On arrival we were greeted at reception which was very welcoming. We stayed in a family room with sea views, it was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. There are 3 lounges downstairs and a bar all tastefully decorated. It was a really hot day but the doors were all open and there was a lovely breeze flowing throughout. Daniella served us both days in the restaurant, she was polite, friendly, very likeable and worked hard to make sure everyone was catered for, al, with a smile. I can’t fault the food, everything was nice,y presented and tasted so good, especially the lamb on Wednesday. 5 courses are on offer and a different menu each night. We didn’t manage 5 courses, we did try though. Breakfast has p,e Ty of choices, again the cooked breakfast was very good. Sitting out on the terrace before evening meal was lovely, peaceful and a great view. It was so hot, the bedrooms are not air conditioned but we asked for a fan from reception and that helped. It was so hard to find a negative so a tiny one is it says luxury toiletries are provided, I was surprised and caught out to find no shampoo so we bought some from the shops. The hotel is well p,aced for beautiful Aberdyfi beach, Tywyn, Aberystwyth and so much more. We look forward to returning.
