I had expected a good standard bed and breakfast - what I got was a boutique mini-hotel atmosphere and facilities with the approachability and friendliness of a b&b. Chris stayed up as I was late arriving. The rooms are furnished and decorated in an inventive, unique way which I hadn't experienced before. The breakfast was the best I've ever had......Chris... more

I recently stayed with some work friends at Cairn Bay Lodge and the whole experience was fantastic. The attention to detail and service at this beautiful lodge was second to none. It was magical and truly inviting. The rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable, and extremely good value for money. I loved this place so much (and so did my... more

Chris and Jenny made us feel right at home at their beautiful lodge. We had a large room with a bay window looking out over Cairn Bay. The rooms were big, the beds were so cozy and comfortable, we left the windows open all night, the sea air made for a nice, long sleep, which helps when you are jet... more

I presently visit a relation in Belfast monthly. I have stayed with Jenny and Chris at The Cairn Bay Lodge nearly every month since early 2008. The house is an architectural gem as well as a warm and welcoming home. Each of the en suite rooms is different in style but all are luxurious, spacious and very well equipped most... more

We received a warm welcome and all the way through our stay our hosts gave 110% to us. The extra "touches" of a fresh flower with our breakfast, where else would I get shamrock on my tomato! The family atmosphere, the facilities and breakfast to dream about. The location is beautiful and witin walking distance of the town with good... more

My wife and I had the privilege of staying at the Cairn Bay Lodge for seven nights. We had been traveling extensively all around Britain and Northern Ireland and stayed in many different hotels, Guest Houses and B & B's. Most of the accommodation we stayed in was good but the Cairn Bay Lodge was by far "The Best of... more

Had a 4 night stay at The Cairn Bay Lodge at the end of August. Everyone was very friendly and made our stay in Bangor very pleasant. Speciality breakfasts a delight. Bangor itself is a lovely town either to relax or to have a lively weekend and is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Both myself and my... more

I was born in Belfast N. Ireland and remember going to Bangor as a small child. My trip included a stay with my aunt in Newtownards. This three day stay at the the Cairin Bay Lodge was the highlight of my trip. The location, friendly hosts, Chris and Jenny, delicious breakfast (included) and beautiful scenery, on the water. The Lodge... more

The service was superb. Our son is on a special diet and the owners were very helpful in preparing his special food. Our room was huge, with beautiful views over Ballyholme Bay. There was more than enough storage space and a very comfortable sofa to relax on. The tea/coffee tray even had crisps and Kit-kat biscuits and there was cake... more
