We have stayed here twice now. The hotel is in the centre of Bangor near the seafront, shops and pubs.
The bedrooms are quite different and it's pot luck as to whether you get a large room or a small one. The first time we stayed (in 2006) our room was fairly poky, but this year we had a really large, airy room which was very pleasant.
The breakfasts are the traditional "Ulster fry" along with cereal, toast, fruit juice etc. The portions are huge and will keep you going
all day.
The Tara does claim to be a guest house rather than a hotel so facilities are limited, but if you want somewhere comfortable to stay in and don't intend to spend a lot of time there other than to sleep then it's just great.
