A relaxed but professional welcome, Excellent service and breakfast was great, polite and friendly staff. As we dined in the restaurant on the 1st night we felt the menu was a little fussy not all to our taste if a regular diner!! We both stuck to what we knew Steak and Lasagne. All in all Excellent. more

Visited for Saturday lunch with my wife and two relatives for birthday treat. Staff friendly and helpful, furnishings and setting brilliant. However... two had roast beef which was either of poor qualityor badly cooked...sliced thick...most left as effort of eating it was too much. I had steak & ale pie which had obviously been warmed up under the grill since... more

I called into the Ryles Arms not having been in it for over 15 years. It had changed a lot and was obviously under new management and undergone an extension and upgrade to provide further dining space. We called in for a late lunch and it was delightful. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the service, although a little... more

The Ryles had a flier describing the "ARRAY" of fish dishes it would be offering for its Good Friday menu. Tempted I decided to eat there on that evening. Waiting with anticipation I was given a small blackboard with a selection of 3 fish meals - 2 of which had citrus sauces. That out. I asked for the choice of... more

Only stayed one night - not long enough. Staff really helpful and friendly. The room was clean and everything you needed, even shampoo etc which for a B&B I didn't expect, the little things make a difference. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. We want to go back and stay longer and go for walks which we saw leave from... more

This hotel is in a wonderful location with magnificent scenery all around. Rooms are comfortable but beds are on the small size for those of us accustomed to sleeping in a king-sized bed at home. Service is friendly and welcoming and a nice touch was being offered complimentary coffee when sitting and reading the papers in the lounge area. Be... more

We stayed at The Ryles Arms [--] for a night in April, 2007 as we were due to attend a weding in the area. We found it by chance - on the internet - and booked it a day before we were due to stay there. We telephoned and asked if it was possible to check in early as this... more
