Travelled up to ride the Cat & Fiddle road [brilliant]. Pub was a welcome retreat after a hard day's ride. Lovely room [complimentary sherry a nice touch], good food [scallops & lamb were yummy] and full English breakfast on offer [though was too full from dinner to partake!]. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. more

We had 2 nights in the Stanley Room and it was a gorgeous stay. The owners have very high standards and the atmosphere was perfect for a small country pub. We have no hesitation in recommending this above the bigger and more expensive hotels in the Macclesfield area more

Stayed for 3 very pleasant days. The breakfasts and dinners are wholesome, substantial and well prepared. The room we stayed in was warm, fully equiped and very comfortable. The landlord, landlady/chef and staff were attentive and friendly. A little off the beaten track but well worth the effort. Lovely local scenery and walks. more

Stayed here one night before a wedding next day in nearby Altrincham - very glad I did. Rooms were in a newly converted barn next to the pub, so new furniture and fittings.
