My partner and I stayed at The Crown Inn for one night on the last night of a week long break in Cornwall, and were thoroughly impressed. The pub is in a lovely little village and looks exactly like the old fashioned country pub you might picture and hope for. There were a number of well kept local real ales,... more

I was with a party of ten friends who stayed here sadly just for one night. Without exception we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Having stayed at dozens of B&B's of various qualities over the years this one has to be one of the best. The rooms were clean and delightfully cottagy with very comfortable beds, the setting is magical, the... more

We stayed here for three nights in early May 2009. First impressions weren't that good: our bedroom was pretty small and situated in a small block of three rooms adjoining the large car park and separate from the pub itself. My wife said it looked like the toilet block from the outside, which was prophetic as someone later tried to... more

A beautiful building in an idyllic setting with a large menu and extensive wine list. Moule Mariniere was terrible with hacked chunks of onion, bearded uncleaned mussels, grit and covered in barnacles.......sent back. Replaced with Chicken salad that returned covered in sauce, eight anchovies and bagged limp pre-packed salad leaves.....sent back (I specifically asked for chicken salad with no cheese,... more

We stayed 1 night at this wonderful Inn. The village only has this 1 pub/inn plus a school, a church and very little else. We stayed in 1 of their twin rooms in the converted outbuilding. A lovely quiet room with very comfortable beds. We had our evening meal in their restaurant - a bit pricey but extremely good, large... more

A piece of paradise My wife found this truly gorgeous country Inn which was close to Eden project and Heligan which she wanted to visit, and it is an absolute gem-great food, excellent beer, comfortable rooms that are well kitted out and very, very clean. Add to this cheerful, helpful staff which made our short break a most enjoyable stay and we... more

We stayed here for two nights and found it to be great. The gardens are wonderful, peaceful and beautiful. It's in a quiet little village with nothing else around. The pub itself is a 12th century building and they say with plumbing to match, however we had no problems at all. The room was very clean, airy and fresh, the... more

We ate at the resataurant in The Crown at Lanlivery twice during our recent week in Cornwall. It was so good the first time we went back. Nice ales. Enjoyed the Crab Gratin, shoulder of lamb....all sorts of things. Food seemed to be all locally sourced where possible and it was very tasty. Staff were helpful and friendly too. Above... more

Bad service - staff made us feel like we shouldn't be there. Not what I would expect. Don't stay here - don't have a meal here - don't even have a drink here until the staff learn to traet customers with some respect. more
