Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Initial impressions were good. But after checking in I went to my room to freshen up and discovered the hot water tap ran at a trickle. Boiled a kettle for a shave next morning. After breakfast I handed in my key and left the pub/room for the day. I retuned at 9 pm and headed up to my room only to find it was as I left it! All in all not very good at all.

Stayed in this excellent hotel for two nights with friends, touring the local roads on motorcycles. Accommodation clean and comfortable, staff welcoming and friendly as were the locals. Value for money outstanding, we will be back (and try and drink them out of Guinness again).

I had a nice stay here. My room was in the newly built annex, which was good as it was quieter than it would have been in the same building as the pub itself. The rooms are comfortable, with TV and tea/coffee. The bathroom is small, but modern and functional. The breakfast was amazing. A freshly cooked full English breakfast with cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast, tea and coffee and juices available as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice enough place and staff and service is fine but how can a pub actually call itself a pub and yet have NO real beer/ale ?!?! Only fizzy pumped stuff - best I could get was a Guinness? Can’t understand in a semi rural location no real draft ales ?!?!

I have stayed in this hotel quite a few times over the last 5/6 years and I always enjoy the occasion and will return next year. The New Swan is constantly evolving as the owner expands and improves the rooms and available facilities and yet again my single room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for my motorcycle weekend with the local Triumph centre. The staff were friendly and helpful (as always), I enjoyed a few beers in the bar and the breakfasts were good. I also made use of the clean and convenient kitchen facilities for the first time, catering for myself as I chose not to dine out on one evening. All for a reasonable price. One minor issue was something beyond the control of the owners - three inconsiderate guests chose to sit outside my room where the motorcycles were parked, noisily finishing their beers and waking me (and others) from our sleep, before then retiring to their own rooms about 30 minutes later. The owners do have ‘keep quiet’ signage in the area but they cannot be held to account for these few inconsiderable people. However, this minor issue did not ruin my four day stay and I have already booked a return visit.

I pitched up late afternoon on my own and being a girl I was a bit anxious but I was not only welcomed I was made to feel as if I had arrived home. The staff are very friendly but not in your face, the place is very clean, the breakfast excellent and the atmosphere really fun. I would definitely recommend and intend going back for sure!!

Rooms are spotless and comfortable. Great breakfast - really well cooked. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent value. Motorcycle friendly - ideal location for the Triumph Adventure Experience (10 minute walk). Large Tesco with fuel station 5 mins walk. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Would thoroughly recommend.

Booked this accommodation on the recommendation of a friend, then saw the review from Bubba Lewis which resulted in two sleepless nights! Suffice to say that i was more than pleasantly surprised, even checked via post code that i was staying in the same establishment. The staff were both friendly and efficient, the breakfast magnificent and the rooms super clean. My bed was so comfortable that i overslept three mornings running and i just can’t overemphasise enough how truly delightful my entire stay was.
