From reading previous reviews I was impressed that the major problem is staying at the old neglected wing of the hotel, while the new wing is totally a better story. I was totally disapointed of my room in the "new" wing of this property. The room is very poorly decorated with old furniture. The room smelt cigarets and the location... More

Was there on a group tour. The rooms were so dusty. Had to move the mattress to look for something and the amount of dust under the mattress on the bedboard was unbelievable. I don't think it had been dusted for months. The shower was moldy and tiny. The dinner was OK and the staff were nice. Would not choose... More

This hotel looked better on the hotel pics than inside I think. First, it was difficult to find it, because there's no hotel name on the street or in front of the hotel. And the hotel address had no street number in it. In the dark we looked around, called the hotel to inquire about the street number, and they... More

First of all, the staff at this hotel was the most professional and at the same time, the friendliest I encountered on my two week tour. They actually wanted to help you and this seems rather rare in Italy. The location is not great, although no problem if you are on an overnight bus tour stop or is you have... More

Another night on the Archer's tour of Sicily and we had begun to expect poor hotels. Apparently the new part of the hotel was better. In the old part, the corridor carpets were stained and smelly. The bathroom was poor and in need of refurbishment and decoration. The smoke detector had been removed from the bedroom ceiling but the bed... More

Just back from tha cosmos tour of Sicily during which we were unfortunate enough to stay one night at the Akrabello. After walking around the temples I was looking forward to a bath but the mould around the bath put me off. The carpets are filthy. They have the cheek to force you to buy a swimming hat, 4 euros,... My wife and I stayed here on 8 May 2012 as part of a Cosmos tour of southern Italy. This was the worst hotel we stayed in, even by Sicilian standards. It looks modern and presentable from the outside, but there were many shortcomings that became apparent only after we had checked in. There was no English language TV, the... More

I stayed here in April for one night while on a Cosmos tour of Southern Italy and Sicily. It’s a nice enough place but not especially memorable. It’s located on a busy highway but since it is set back from the road it is quiet. Has an indoor swimming pool which is unusual. I didn’t see anyone using it. The... More

We booked this hotel during our Sicily round trip for one night and our choice was very much based on the images and discriptions on their website. We were glad we only stayed one night! "Where did they get these pictures"? Everything in the hotel gave the impression it was very much in need of redecorating! The furniture in our... More

We were scheduled to stay at the Akrabello for two nights, but pulled out after staying (reluctantly) for only one. To capture the atmosphere in one word, I would use "depressing." We were given a choice of two rooms. Both were large, bare and unattractive, devoid of any decoration or warmth. Built-in cheap wooden furniture, painted dark green with the... More
