Villa Mirtilla: Please, give it a miss!!!

After having seen such nice pictures on the internet of this place, we thought it would be a good idea to book it for 5 nights. Turned out for us to be a big mistake! When we arrived in Altavilla Milicia, which is an incredibly boring place (actually, there is nothing such as a decent restaurant, a market or something that even resembles a small village), it took some time till we got hold of our key, it seemed somehow that they didn’t expect us, even though we had made a deposit. Then we were shown our room. Remember the nice pictures of the pool terrace, well, this was the roof of our room. The room smelled like it had not been opened for at least half a year, the air conditioning didn’t work, there was just a teeny glimpse of sunlight through the tiny window, and yes, somewhere in the room was a small crack because of the pool water dripping in right above your head! Okay, true enough, the airco got repaired, the smell fainted, so... more
