We went to the Hotel Lungomare last summer on the recommendation of friends and as soon as we got back we booked to go again this year (2007). The hotel had just been rennovated and offered every comfort - the owners tell us there is more to come with a further expansion programme planned for next year. Its right on the beach with steps leading down from the huge swimming pool area. The food in the restaurant was fabulous a huge daily selection with either buffet or table service at every meal (you can choose!). Virtually opposite the hotel is the main street with shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. At night time it is all pedestrianised with everything staying open to midnight (yes... even the shops).

The owners and staff of the hotel were the friendliest I have ever met in Italy and couldnt do enough for us to make sure our stay was the best ever.

Shock horror - we even found ourselves getting out and about by Bicycle - something we never ever do in London... more
