I cannot praise this B&B too highly. The delightful owner and her son (who both speak fluent English) made us feel so welcome, giving of their time to explain the sights etc. Nothing was too much trouble. We were given a separate flat to stay in (complete with kitchen) in the adjacent annex - it was so spacious I thought... more

My husband and I and our grown son rented a two bedroom apartment at Locanda Borgonuovo in Ferrara this past May. The accomodations were perfect. The owners were always available and SO HELPFUL in information and recommendations. We highly recommend Ferrara as a base city for exploring the northeast of Italy and especially recommend Locanda Borgonuovo. The rail connections are... more

After reading the review on Tripadvisor and elsewhere, I felt this was the right place to stay. My husband and I like to travel off the beaten path more than the touristy areas and felt that Ferrara would be a good choice. We spent 4 nights at the Locanda and the hosts - Andrea, Adele and Filippo were outstanding. They... more

I read the reviews and suspected that this property was the perfect place to stay if I wanted to see a bit of Italy that I might not normally have experienced. I was so right. They were exceptional hosts and Ferrara was a lovely city. I have never stayed anywhere that the proprietors were so invested in their customer's positive... more

My husband and I stayed one night at the Borgonuovo B & B while we were traveling between Venice and Bologna. We loved it! If we had it to do over, we would have definitely stayed longer. The family were extremely friendly and accommodating, and we really enjoyed zipping around town on the free bicycles. Both the Borgonuovo and Ferrara... more

We picked this B&B because of all the great reviews on this website. With our 2 teenage daughters, we borrowed bikes from Locanda Borguonuovo and rode around the wall of the old city. It was so much fun and a beautiful way to see the old city. The room we had was a 2-bedroom suite with a large dining room... more

Previous reviewers have said almost all, but we are happy to join the praise. Our 3 generation family enjoyed the Locanda Burgonuovo very much. We stayed in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment next door to the Locanda itself - the whole complex is a previous nunnery bought by Adele's father in 1929. Adele herself is kind, gracious and informative, a... more

An tremendously good choice. A warm welcome, excellent advice on where to eat (the nearby Ca' Ferrara), an elegant spotless room and tiled white bathroom, a location that is so central we couldn't quite believe it. A very good breakfast is served in their elegant parlour of tasteful paintings (every year guests are given a reproduction of a different one... more

Even after reading the positive reviews on this site, staying at the Borgonuovo exceeded all expectations. We felt very at home in the Orlandini's B&B and in the town of Ferrara. The room was charming, very clean, and included a small kitchenette that came in handy for self-catering. (A nice grocery store is a block away.) But as nice as... more

The Locanda is a perfect combination of a great location and wonderful and helpful owners. It is located right in the middle of Ferrara (a small city that deserves far more attention than it gets). It is located just a few minutes walk from the Cathedral and Castle, but the neighborhood is quiet. Our room was clean and comfortable and... more
