This hotel is marketed as four star, but on the approach the hotel sign has only three stars, (the other fallen off or been removed by disgruntled guests) The room was very nice and clean and spacious, but no hotel information/tv station info/ or room service literature. The hotel grounds are lovely. However, the service was appalling. At dinner it... more

The indoor pool and spa that we were looking forward to using, because of the beautiful pictures that were shown, was closed. The owner said it was being renovated, although we never saw anyone working. The food was good and all the wine you could drink. The biggest disappointment for my husband and I was there was nothing to do at the hotel... more

Beautiful grounds and lovely pools, especially the indoor spa. Our room was just fine and it looked over the lush surroundings of the outside pool. Short walk to great shopping but bring money if you'd like to swim - or even walk - on the beach. Location is fantastic, with Taormina and Mt. Etna reasonably closeby. Hotel food was simply... more

Went there as a single traveller. The hotel is good for families and couples, but as a single I would have a couple of recommendations how to improve. Rooms are large and clean. Bathrooms vary - some showers are extremely small. Aircondition in all rooms, but it works only during nighttime (ok, environmentally friendly!). All rooms with balcony, but some... more

We stayed here on Sept. 10 with our bus tour. After being in Taormina that day, it was wonderful to sit outside on the balcony of our room and see the hilltop town, especially when it was lit up at night. Even more impressive, from the front steps of the hotel at night, we could see the glowing red lava... more

With two children, we were concerned about the size of a shared room but were delighted with our accommodation of a huge double bed and two singles. Proper beds - no campbeds or sofabeds. We had a stunning view of Mount Etna which smoked all day and spewed lava at night!! Our room had very efficient Aircon and was spotlessly... more

Hotel was beautiful, lovely pool area with friendly , helpful staff. The only problem we enountered was the evening meal on half board. I am not a lover of tinned peas and carrots - served with most meals - sometimes tinned green beans. The lack of any fresh vegetables and fruit was very disappointing. I at least expected fresh tomatoes!... more

I stayed at this hotel on a tour for three nights about four years ago, and I must say the new wing that I stayed in this time for three nights was much nicer than the old part of the hotel. My room was very simple, with almost no amenities, but it was clean and bright and fairly large, as... more

We stayed at the Sant Alphio for four nights as part of an ABC tour. The room was excellent, with a balcony and a good view of Taoramino. The beds, a queen and a twin (unused) were very firm, and comfortable. There was no AC and the only ventilation was the doors to the balcony, which we kept open all... more

although this looks like a beautiful hotel from the outside, it was apparent after the first day that this was not a hotel for children of any age. the staff would constantly tell the children that they were not allowed to play, incase thay splashed the bar. the shallow end was 4 foot deep so smaller children struggled. the owner... more
