We were placed here because our original hotel, booked through TUI, couldn’t take us. Don’t get me started on that ridiculous company, I’ll rate them elsewhere. However this hotel offered a pleasant stay and certainly wasn’t a compromise. Rooms weren’t quite as the hotel pictures suggest, definitely the cheaper wing for us. Nonetheless the room was pleasant and spacious with a modern bathroom. Our balcony offered a partial view to the sea but the hotel terrace was a beautiful spot where we could read, watch the world go by and enjoy drinks from the bar. Breakfast was a high quality continental offering and service was very good. However I vowed never to try again for an evening meal in the restaurant as the infamous Maitre D was rude and unwelcoming when we dared to go for dinner. Shouting at guests that they should book because the restaurant was full was not exactly what one would expect of a four star establishment. Full, it certainly was not and there was no alternative time offered. We were sent away with a humiliating flea in our ears. A complaint to reception received a shrug of the shoulders from the disinterested receptionist, who was completely different in character to the pleasant lady who had given us such a warm, friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived earlier in the day. Thankfully the service from bar staff was much friendlier and more accommodating throughout our stay. The hotel overlooks the sea, and shops and restaurants are right on the doorstep offering a perfect location. There is much to recommend this hotel. Get rid of your rude and unpleasant Maitre D and you’ll have a hotel worthy of a full five star rating.

Hotel's Favourite
We have just got back from a 10 night stay at the Pietra Di Luna hotel in Maiori. We were a party of 4, myself and my husband (in our 40’s) and my parents (in their 70’s). We had booked superior rooms because we wanted a sea view and we were not disappointed, we were on the 4th floor the the front of the hotel with a fantastic panoramic view across the bay, stunning! The rooms are a decent size with a very comfy and large bed, they are a little dated but perfectly fine and well equipped with a fridge, comfy seats on the balcony as well as 2 chairs in the room and plenty of cupboard/wardrobe space. We also had a spare single bed in our room which was useful for putting stuff on! Pool/beach towels were provided and could be changed when you liked. The pool is nice and we never struggled for a sun bed, the beach is great and you are allocated Sun loungers for your stay on arrival which we really liked. We were staying on a bed and breakfast basis and found the breakfast to be more than adequate with a decent selection of fruit, yoghurts, cereal, cold meat, pate, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, breads, cakes and pastries and a good selection of gluten free products too for my mum who is coeliac. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable throughout the hotel, the hotel is in an ideal location, very close to the beach and a very short walk to the centre of Maiori for restaurants in the evening etc. The only small “bad” point (which by no means affected our overall experience!), was the poor aircon in the rooms, it is a central system and it’s just not really very effective or cool, having said that we were overly hot in the night or anything like that. We probably won’t come back because we don’t tend to go back to the same place but if we ever found ourselves in Maiori again we would definitely stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel in a beautiful part of the world. It was lovely and clean, the breakfasts were great, handy to everything, had a great pool and a beautiful bar / restaurant overlooking the sea. To add to that the staff were all great. Hopefully we will get to return again one day.

We booked to stay here after visiting for a welcome meeting with a Rep whilst staying at another hotel. The hotel is right on the seafront and we had a partial sea view room but the view was fantastic. The hotel is quite old fashioned decor wise but it’s got a real charm. The room was spacious, the only thing missing was a kettle but it didn’t really matter to us. We only used the pool once as we spent most of our time exploring but it was very quiet with plenty of beds. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the restaurant manager greeted my husband by name which was a nice touch. If we stayed again (we would choose here if we returned) we would probably stay B&B not because there were any problems but because Maiori has lots of lovely restaurants to explore. That said the service in the restaurant was very good. I had no complaints about our stay.

We arrived at PIETRA di Luna Hotel for a weeks holiday on the 4 th August 2023 We were very late arriving at the hotel due to having a 2 hour wait for our bags to be loaded onto the luggage belt We were greeted by a very friendly helpful man on reception who had waited for us until 1-20 am and kindly offered us a meal before very quickly checking us in The room was very spacious and extremely clean with a lovely large shower Our sunny balcony was great too the only negative is no tea and coffee facilities in the room unlike the rest of Europe please give other guests an option for this Breakfast was Basic Scrambled/boiled eggs Sliced ham selection of cheeses Cereal & yogurt Bacon (no sausages no cooked tomatoes no mushrooms ) as is standard in other parts of Italy We stayed half board expecting a high standard of food to be offered each night Unfortunately this was not the case There’s minimal choice on the menu The first night we ordered pork steak which was grey bland and tasteless This was accompanied with chopped greasy potato cubes (like chopped up chips) and Brussels sprouts No gravy or sauce The second night We had chicken accompanied by the same potato cubes and artichokes (tasteless again) The third night Pork steak stuffed with something But when we chopped into the pork it was raw the butter was hard which made us think this was prepared in a microwave and not palatable at all We sent this back we were not the only ones after explaining to the Maitre Dee we did not want a replacement meal as this had put us completely off the restaurant We were finishing our drinks when he turned up with a new meal of some sort claiming this was a very nice steak He was very pushy and arrogant towards us we sent that meal away as we had already said we did not want a replacement this caused a scene We continued using the restaurant for breakfast (all the other staff are very friendly and helpful) In the evenings we enjoyed some lovely meals in the hotel sole next door which offered fantastic tasty Italian cuisine (which is what we expected from your hotel ) If the restaurant was not such a let down we would have given you a much higher rating it really is being let down by the Maitre Dee And HIS restaurant We loved the hotel and we loved the staff The bar had friendly staff too The location was brilliant being in the centre of Māori which has a beautiful private beach section to enjoy

Myself qand my Partner absolutely loved our stay. Highlights include the view from the Bar situated out front, great for cocktails before dinner and after as well. Housekeeping were perfect and always on the ball. The room was spacious with a great shower, we had a side room overlooking pool and sea. Great sized Balacony. The town itself is walking distance from the hotel, but also many bars along the sea front on both the beach side of the road and opposite if you want to venture out. Plenty of Tours on offer, to Capri, Pompei, and vesuvius if you don't mind paying extra and most pick up near the htoel. (take the ferry to Capri, we took a boat tour and the transfer was by speedboat, great if you can handle it, but not for the faint hearted) The only thing stopping me giving the Hotel a full 5 starts is one thing, The restaurant is letting the side down. The breakfast offers lots of choise and is very nice, the evening meals are varied as well. But the dining room lacks any ambience (a hotel called RPH down the road we noticed offers eveing meals outside by candel light, very nice) and for some reason they offer lots of bread at dinner but only 1 butter. The oilss and balsamic for the bread are only ever offered to the Itlalian guests for use, as is the parmesan, like they are closely guarded state secrets. At lunch one day (which we paid extra for) i decided to dare to ask if i can have parmesan on my pasta course, the Maitre D' was very quick to contradict me saying it was not required as i was having a prawn pasta it wouldn't be nice, seriously why am i fighting for parmesan? Eventually he gave in and it was nice on the pasta. The whole event of him repremanding my choice drew a lot of attention from the other guests i was quite mortified, as far as i am aware the restaurant is not michelin starred so if a guest asks for something even if you personally think its not required, you should honour what the guest has requested. Prior to this On my second night of stay as i was leaving the restaurent i stupidly said Buenas Noches instead of buona sera, i knew the difference i was just tired it was and it was a slip, well the same Maitre D' corrected me again in a firm tone in front of the whole restaurant, not neccassary in anyway. So in summery its a great place but your Maitre D' needs to chill out and Brits love parmasan and olive oil too, please offer it to your guests at dinner.

Amazing coach journey through the mountain roads and greeted with a wave by the hotel staff. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Good size room, lovely spacious modern shower/bathroom and stunning sea view from the balcony. Staff were very polite and accommodating. Good variety of food - the starters always included a pasta dish and portions are very generous. The location is very clean and felt safe to wander around being a single lady with my teenage daughter. A lot of return visitors in the hotel and I can see the attraction of coming back to this beautiful place again and again!

Beautiful Maiori, good location, excellent housekeeping but very outdated and out of touch with modern standards of hospitality and customer service. Their view is that their way is correct not the comfort or needs of the paying guest. Very odd beach system which means you are refused a seat near the beach even when no one else is there. Never have I been shouted at or intimidated as a guest by just wanting to sit on a beach - I did pay for a beach package . Unfriendly and unhelpful - and not typical of Italy .
