Wow, we loved it. One of the biggest bathrooms in Italy! Rooms were spotless. Locked garage parking. Private balcony with a view to die for. A/C was extra, but we did not need it, a nice breeze blew all evening. While not in the walled city, it was a nice 15 minute walk to the ancient walled city. Up an... more

This hotel wa PERFECT! The staff was awesome, they helped us carry our lugguage to our room, when everyone else in Italy just pointed. The service at breakfast was fabulous and tasty. Homemade cooking......delicious. The hotel is a hike though! Be prepared to go uphill, this is orvieto, on a mountain after all! The staff spoke very good english, and... more

Hotel Picchio was ideal for our 2 days in Orvieto. Just a short 300 metre walk from the railway station up a rather steep hill. We chose the superior room which is located in a new building just across the street from the main reception. As with most european hotels the room was small, however was modern, clean and well... more

This is a very nice hotel at a good location for travelers. We stayed there just 1 night, traveling to the Amalfi Coast. The hotel is close to the highway and the busstation. At the busstation we took the bus up to the city for a short visit. (to short). The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. We... more

Our room was extremely cold. We spend an awful night and we couldn't have a shower. It's definitely not a 3 stars hotel. more

Yes, it is in Orvieto Scalo (down the cliff) and yes the funicular closes at 20:30. Then when you know and accept this you can enjoy this lovely hotel that has a pretty view on Orvieto. At 2 min walk from the funicular it is very easy to go up in the beautiful town. My boyfriend and I even had... more

This hotel is okay, but you need to know that it is not in the Orvieto of the postcards. It is in Orvieto Scalo - don't know the exact translation, but practically speaking, it means down the hill. Orvieto Historico is the picturesque one. There is a place that sells tyres in the same street as Picchio - not a... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Picchio. We didn't realize it was outside historical Orvieto but the location is very close to the funicular which is easy to take. It does close at 8:30 though so we had to drive back up for dinner. We paid 65 Euro for the room and expected that parking and AC were... more

We stayed one night at the Picchio as we were going from Rome to Siena. The Hotel itself was very clean, quite, and quant. Parking can be a little challenging as the hotel is on a very steep hill (using the parking/emergency brake is very helpful). There is a train that takes people from the bottom of the hill up... more
