This hotel is too expensive as it lacks guest facilities but Positano is expensive generally so you need to pay lots to get somewhere special. There is a complimentary shuttle bus service dropoff/pickup downtown. Reception staff needed a bit of prodding to offer advice on local information. Stayed here for a long weekend in October. Plus points - the hotel building itself is lovely. Small, boutique feel, very clean and quiet. Above the centre of Positano, but the hotel offers a shuttle service down into town and there is a bus stop close by which means this is not an issue. Have just spent a week in the Palazzo Marzoli, a small hotel on the outskirts of Positano with fantastic views down to the shore. Don't be put off by the 777 steps to the beach, yes it is a long way but going down is easy and meanders in and out of the streets and houses. Going up is tougher... more
