We only stayed there one night, but we wish we could have stayed a week. The place is situated on top of the mountain overlooking Positano and the sea. The views are beautiful. The accommodations were clean and inviting. (Towels and blankets in all the wardrobes, and a lovely living room and kitchen in our lodgings) Breakfast on the terrace... more

We have stayed at Villa Sofia 4 or 5 times and are about to book for another visit in 2009. This family has been very welcoming and accomodating to us, the views are stupendous, the rooms immaculate and well appointed, and the walks on the mountain side are among the best hiking we've found. Villa Sofia is a wonderful B&B situated in Nocelle, a little town just above Positano. The B&B was inexpensive, very clean and had wonderful service. Our room had a breathtaking view of Positano ! This was a great little Villa just above Positano. We found it just by luck on our first trip to the Amalfi coast. Very inexpensive, modern, clean and private.Take the city bus down to town and mix with the locals. One day we took the bus to town, the boat to Capri, up to the top a couple of times... more
