I cannot recommend "Le Scale" for a couple of reasons:
1)WELCOME - very unfriendly:
Normally you arrive at the apartment and you get the keys, but with "Le Scale" you first have to go to Area Vacanze which is 45 Minutes drive away to check in and pay your deposit of 100 Euros. Then you are told that the owner of the apartment "an old man with white hair" is waiting for you at the streets in Praiano who will bring you to the apartment. It was not so easy to find him as he did not make himself noticeable. He was most unfriendly and spoke only Italian. He did not help with the luggage and was very grumpy. He tried to explain to us that we should not use the lights, the television and the hot water as it is too expensive!!!
As the owner only speaks Italian( no other language) you have great difficulties when it comes to question concerning the apartment. The only choice you have is calling area vacanze from your cell phone which is very expensive... more
