We found the Royal by chance 4 years ago, following a disappointing stay on the French Riviera; and thoroughly enjoyed our subsequent all too brief 4 nights within its' walls. It was always our intention to return: and this we did in style, spending a week which encompassed our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Let me say straight away that if any... more

I have just returned from a stay at the Royal with my Mother and three year old boy. We had a delux suite with a seaview and we loved the space of our room. The hotel is old fashioned, welcoming and homely even if it is just a little dated. The staff were warm and friendly and my little boy... more

We have been going to the Royal Hotel San Remo for years(we are originally from Marseilles, France)and we have never been disappointed. The location is ideal, with the beach close by and numerous shops and restaurants nearby. There is a kind of old fashioned spirit in this Hotel, especially at the bar. If you are lucky to get a room with... more

The Royal hotel is in a great location on its own grounds. It is a very comfortable old world 5 star hotel and lives up to its name. The room, although it overlooked the inland side of the hotel was bright, clean and comfortable. A complimentary bottle of champagne welcomed us in our room. The staff were friendly and helpful.... more

My wife and I have just returned from two weeks at the hotel. Our room was of a reasonable though not large size. We did however also have a very large outside balcony, maybe 15 feet by ten (I think these are available in rooms 120 to 130) The room was spotlessly clean though we didn't like the decor- too... more

we atayed at the Royal San remo last week. Honestly, it does not feel like a five star hotel. The furniture must be at least 50 yrs old. the service is good, but it really does not feel like a 5 star. We had come from the Hermitage in Monte carlo, and it definately did not measure up to it.... more

We wanted to stay in San Remo so choose the Royal Hotel as it had a pool, gardens and was convient to the town. This is a very luxurious hotel as we usually stay in 4*. It had every thing. The pool area was lovely but strictly policed by pool attendants and you felt you were being watched! Unfortunately the... more

Having stayed at a number of 5 star hotels in Asia in previous years we were extremely disappointed about the standard of what was supposed to be a 5 star hotel. The hotel had been asked in advance to upgrade our room which we were prepared to pay extra for, however the dour concierge was unprepared to be helpful and... more

Family of 4 from Platt, Kent, England had a wonderful week in July/August 2008 in this luxury hotel. The hotel is tastefully decorated. Our children aged 8 & 5 years old, lived in the swimming pool. EVERY member of staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The seaview junior suite was comfortable for four of... more

We lived in hotel during 2 week and it was great! Everithing was perfect especially swiming pool. We coulden't fish up our children! One thing what I recommend to management - diversify breakfast because in my opinion it was poor. But staff was really kind, all our wishes were satisfied. more
