Lovely hotel, with excellent views from dining hall and many rooms. Being in the middle of remote Italy, not everyone speaks English, but enough of the staff do. Everyone is very helpful anyway. Being well away from usual tourist areas, the hotel rates are very reasonable. Dinner at Euro20 was very good value---the price included half a litre of house... more

I've been quite many times at the Ovidius in Sulmona. It's mainly a hotel for business travelers, with clean comfortable rooms and all basic services for a reasonable price. If you just want a hotel to be functional and comfortable then this is a good choice. Rooms well equipped and well cleaned. Situation is good - on edge of old centre and with a car park. Spent a few days in Sulmona Italy at the end of July. Lovely Town. Wonderful Opera. Hotel Ovidius was a real treat.Excellent accomodations.Great service. Friendly staff. Almost all staff could communicate in English. They "Bent over backwards" to make my stay pleasant. I recommend this hotel highly. more
