I am truly struggling to find the words to adequately describe this hotel and its staff. We have been lucky enough to stay in some top hotels but this one is just about the best. From the moment you walk through the doors, your senses are tickled by the most wonderful smells, sights and sounds in this oasis in Viareggio. The staff are just amazing, beautifully dressed in designer clothes, with smiles and a great attitude. Nothing is too much, names are remembered and preferences saved but the little touches are really impressive (here's a carton of water to take on your walk; if you are going there, please consider seeing these sights; and we have arranged a nice place in a beach club for you today!) all these without having to ask.
The breakfast is extraordinary. Be prepared for a feast! Hosted by the maître de who remembers your choices (which water, juice etc.) for subsequent mornings, the room is simply beautiful, the music, the atmosphere, but the food, wow! Each morning they have different offerings whilst a staple are the fresh eggs done to your taste, the stunning meats and cheeses, fruits, cakes, and so much more. We managed to skip lunch each day so satisfied by their breakfasts, that even dinner was a smaller meal.
On the 5th floor is their wading pool hosted by Vicky, another member of staff that simply could not do enough for us. Great vibe, stocked bar and fabulous restaurant allowing incredible views looking out to sea with carefully crafted glass panels. We liked the enormous parasols that allowed guests to lie there shaded from the sun, sipping cocktails felling especially lucky to have found a hotel like this.
Finally, the bedrooms which were stunning. All the rooms have been renovated, we were lucky enough to have a side-facing balcony, and the bed was very so comfortable. The commodious room with it's high ceilings and beautiful decorations was a real treat with automatic shutters and powerful air conditioning. Even the TV, enormous and bright, was a feature,
All in all, we could not recommend this hotel more highly. If you are looking for a special experience that will create memories to last forever, then look no further than this hotel. We will be back, in fact we are looking to book for next year and now I know how good this place is, we will look forward to returning even more!

Upon entering this wonderful hotel, you feel looked after. The reception and concierge staff: Clarissa/Nina/Martina were absolutely wonderful.

Then the rooms - divinely decorated and so clean, with lovely toiletries refreshed daily.

We were sad to leave after 3 nights, but after a disasterous night at another hotel close by, we called the Principe to ask if they had a room for us for the last 2 nights of our holiday. The wonderful Martina arranged everything and was even able to put us into our original room - incredible service.

The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had and we also dined in the Michelin Star Restaurant and the Maito roof top restaurant, just as fantastic.

I think it's the personal and friendly staff, who although working in a large hotel, offer such a warm and friendly service that it makes someone feel at home.

We will be returning next year and thank you all so much again.

A grand building, requiring a little to be spend on interiors so that the prices match the experience. I would like to thank Chiara and Claudia for providing excellent concierge and Federico for being so attentive. I had asked to speak to the manager, a certain "Simone", however he did not make himself available nor write to me. The hotel (which was not fully booked) wanted a staggering extra £800 pn to shift to a sea view, a price I would pay if the hotel were deserving of it. However charging big prices without guest experience in mind is very outdated in the age of reviews and recommendations. In any case, charming staff but absent management.

A Truly exceptional experience In every way !

My husband and I stopped in Via Reggio for 6 days in September- October for our anniversary on our way to Florence

From the moment we were greeted and upgraded to a suite ( with champagne, anniversary greetings , strawberries plate ,) to the time we departed ( with boxes of water and an arrivederci box of chocolate !!) we had the most incredible experiences with one of the best team at any hotel we have visited!
Many thanks to the managment and to every member of this property !
Everyone here has a CAN - DO attitude!
Thank you to the great and beautiful front desk staff: Veronica, Martina and Elena !
Many thanks to Chiara for organizing wonderful trip to Cinqa Terra , buying tickets, booking restaurant with a wonderful view, directing us to the points of interest … Exceptiona

Hotel itself is a unique combination of the finest Italian design accommodations , beautiful art and a modern convenience . Stefano Ricci at its best 👍🙂

I have to mention delicious gourmet breakfast served in a terrific breakfast area .

Location of the hotel is perfect for staying at the beach and for site trips to Pietrosanta, Lucca, Terra del Lago ( Puccini )

I wrote a longer letter as a brief description would not be sufficient to express the level of experience we had and which we will cherish and never forget.

We will definitely come back!

Highly recommend this hotel !

We were quite hesitant to book this hotel as there aren’t many reviews, however we were blown away with the service and staff. Having stayed in Italy for couple of weeks we understood that the service and hospitality are different compare to Asia. This is not the case for this hotel. As soon as the bellboy noticed our car, he immediately help us with our heavy luggages and took care of the parking. This is highly appreciated. We booked a room with front sea view and they upgraded us to a suite front sea view. The suite includes two bathrooms, living room
and a walk in closet. Both toilet contains luxurious toiletries such as Hermes and Bvlgari. Breakfast is amazing, comparable to other 5 star hotel we’ve been such as Shangri-La, St Regis, and Mandarin Oriental (they have fresh squeezed juice). The staff from reception have been always helpful. Only regret we have is that we wish we stayed longer. Highly recommend this hotel to have a pleasant and memorable stay in Viareggio. Special thanks to Nina and Veronica.

My husband and I began our 2 week tour of Italy at this amazing hotel. It is located directly across the street from the beaches and right on the main promenade of Viareggio. The staff was so helpful in directing us to local restaurants, advising us on how to use the train to get to Cinque Terre and helping us with anything we could have needed.

The breakfast at this hotel deserves a review of its own. The spread was never ending, the staff was so attentive and the food was incredible.

The rooftop pool offers amazing views of both the mountains and the ocean, the hotel bar has delicious craft cocktails with a robust aperitivo and the hotel had bicycles that guests can use to tour around the local area. It was the most relaxing way to begin our trip and the town of Viareggio does not see many American tourists so this was a great treat!

This is a very comfortable/luxurious hotel. The breakfast is one of the best we have ever experienced! The reception and concierge staff are unbelievably helpful, one lovely lady planned our trip to Lucca including providing a map, showing us where to park, eat lunch and attractions to go to.
The restaurant on the 5th floor is excellent with the most beautiful setting. However, the 2 Michelin star restaurant on the ground floor was a disappointment - certainly not the best Michelin experience we have ever had.

Dear Guest, thank you very much for staying with us and sharing your experience. Such a pleasure to read that our daily efforts dedicated to making guests' stays unforgettable are greatly appreciated, especially when they create a wow effect, as in the case of our panoramic Maitò restaurant or breakfast. We are happy to hear that your trip to best-loved town Lucca went so smoothly thanks to the advice of our Clefs D’Or concierge Chiara. With reference to the 2 Michelin-starred “Il Piccolo Principe “, the only one restaurant on the coast to have achieved such an important award , we regret that we have not met your expectations. Every day we offer our guests a high quality cuisine, including bio vegetables, necessary for healthy recipes, grown in our own field. We would very much appreciate if you would contact us with more details about your dining experience so that we can see where we can improve even more, thank you in advance. We would be delighted to welcome you back to our hotel! Kindest Regards, Guest Relation

We just checked out after 4 nights and our first stop in Italy. The location and property are stunning and the service is incredible. From the moment we booked, the hotel staff was very helpful with coordinating dinner reservations and car service reservations. They made the first part of the trip so easy which was helpful as we were traveling with our 6 and 5 year old. If the service had stopped there, our thoughts would be the same, but upon arrival the service and genuine care from the staff was unlike we have experienced before. The food was great, the rooftop pool is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable. Five stars all the way!

Special thank you to the staff for also making our daughters 5 year old birthday so special with a cake /candle to blow out at breakfast and a birthday gift upon check out. You sincere kindness made her day!!

As perfect as a hotel can be; at least on par with Six Senses Douro Valley and Beau Rivage in Lausanne. The hotel just completed extensive renovations and the result is stunning. The location across the street from the lungomare and the beach clubs is outstanding. The staff and service were absolutely incredible - very welcoming and personal. The rooftop pool and bar is beautiful, with great views to the sea. The food was excellent - at breakfast and the Michelin 2 star restaurant. The breakfast was the most expansive I have seen. Viareggio is also close to Lucca and Pisa for day visits, and this is a great hotel option from which to visit both - especially as there are no hotels nearly comparable in either location. This is a must visit.

Splendid venue, beautiful artwork, exceptional reception and attentive service throughout our stay. Breakfast is out of this world, Michelin star chef serving croissants better than the best boulangerie in Paris! Wide variety of foods in a impressive setting. The renovation of this place must have costed a fortune. A must to visit.
