I very much recommend the Astoria. In some of the smaller hotels I have stayed in with my wife in this area, the staff can either be really snooty and distant or they never give you a minute to yourselves, which is not what you want when you are on a romantic getaway! Here they’ve got the balance just right.... more

Our room overlooked the Mediterranean Sea. It was magnificent. The staff were very solicitous. The manager was especially kind & thoughtful. Our room did face the street and was somewhat noisy but worth the beauty of seeing the Sea and Mt. Vesuvius in the distance. The breakfast was delightful and we had the best cappucini we've ever tasted. more

We decided to stay in Vico Equense as a base for visiting Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Amalfi coast. The location of Astoria Vico hotel (steps from the Circumvensia train) and views (across to Vesuvius) were ideal. The hotel itself was ok (maybe a 3 star), but the staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were adequate and clean -- not... more

Small Hotel, Clean, Very rich Breakfast and the rooms are comforting, From our room the Volcano almost touched him. Unbelievable but the Astoria is one of the few Hotels in Peninsula Sorrentina with a total WiFi also in the rooms. The rooms have everything from the clima, to the safe box. The hotel is central and we confirm the precedents... more

We have been to the Astoria from January 9 to 14 and she have been a beautiful surprise to find this small Hotel (one of the few open Hotels) our room has been very comforting, where we had a beautiful room and a beautiful small balcony that it looked on the Volcano. Everything was very clean (we don't understand the... more

My daughter stayed at the Astoria Hotel during an ancient history tour with her school and recommended it to us. On a family tour of the Amalfi coast we passed by Vico Equense and ended up looking for a hotel late in the day in Sorrento. Admittedly it was off-season so some were closed but what was available was expensive.... more

Just came back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Without getting misty eyed, the hotel was fine, the room was small but suitable for our needs (head down between sights)and the bathroom reasonable but no bath. We were lucky enough to get a balcony which had just enough room for 2 chairs and a table. What was so good... more

Can't believe the previous reviewer is talking about the same hotel! We found the room clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly, the breakfast choice was very good and overall it was an excellent base from which to see the area. As we were without a car we found the location, next to the train station, very convenient. We did... more

The drive to the Amalfi coast was a pretty one and we were expecting a wonderful 2 days. On arrival we were met at reception by a woman who spoke little english and gave us a key, nothing more! The car had to be parked behind the hotel in a car park guarded by a number of old and young... more

I cannot believe the previous reviews. This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Even though I had pre-paid for three nights, I left after two and just paid on the double for another hotel. Calling this place a hotel is a bit of a stretch. It's a block of rooms on the ground and first floor... more
